DUTIES
- Attend Council Meetings
- Maintain Official records
- Prepare By-laws, agendas and handle related correspondence.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping as pertains to municipal requirements.
- Tax Collection function, tax arrears, ensuring collection of interest and penalties.
- Maintain all relevant accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax ledgers and payroll system,
and observe all procedures necessary for the flow and handling of cash, calculations, posting
and banking operations and reconciliations.
- Develop and co-ordinate the budget process resulting in the setting of mill rates.
- Municipal Drainage procedures and related assessment and accounting of same.
- Familiarity with Government Grant programs.
- Administration of O.H.R.P.
- Statutory Duties of the Clerk.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent verbal & written skills to prepare reports and minutes, and to co-ordinate policy advice
to present sound, practical recommendations to Council.
- Communications ,& public relations skills.
- Good office management skills.
- Knowledge of word -processor program.
- Knowledge Of Provincial Statutes and Regulations.
- Preference will be given tothose who have A.M.C.T. or A.M.T.C. certification and/or a minimum
of five years experience in a Clerk'sOfflce. Consideration will be given to applicants willing to
further their Municipal education as may be required by Council.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, and experience.
