IIENSALL UNITED CHURCH
A special offering was made at Hensel]
United Church on Sunday for the Canadian
Foodgrains Bank. This was matched three
to one by the d.LD.A. The corn will be sent
to Mozambique, halfway around the world.
Jodi McGee read the old testament and
Gospel lessons. The Children's time was an
offering to the Bible Society with the money
going to Peru. The children were shown on
the globe where the Bibles and corn will be
going.
The choir sang "Every Valley" and the
• sermon was "And so concerning the
Offerings."
Flowers in the Church were hum the
funerals of Jim McGregor and Phillips
Riley.
The afternoon Ladies Group will meet
March 2 at 2:30 p.m . The new Friendship
Circle will meet March 6 at 1:30 p.m. Linda
Reid, R.N. will be guest speaker. •
Friday, March 3 at 2 p.m. there will be
local World Day of Prayer at Hensall United
Church. Guest speaker will be Rev. Mark
Gaskin. Everyone is welcome.
SHUFFLEBOARD RESULTS
Eileen Dowson's 331 was the high score at
Hensall Shuffleboard on February 21,
followed by George Dowson 303, Walter
Davis 259, Dave Kyle 246 and Lorna Spenser
238.
SPECIAL BANQUET
The Hensall Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and
Venturers held their annual parent -son ban-
quet last Thursday evening at the Legion in
Hensall. The boys and their parents enjoyed
fellowship and a delicious roast beef dinner.
On Friday evening the cubs travelled to
Vanastra for swimming and fun, The Cubs
have been busy lately with clothespin crafts.
The Beavers made bird feeders recently
and 17 attended Winterfest. •
The Hensall Scouts have welcomed Mer-
vyn Fields back as a leader, rid recently en-
joyed a Winter Camp.
CREEK CLEAN-UP
Efforts are underway to plan a clean-up of
Black Creek by the Scouting Groups in Hen-
sall. Also planned is Hensall's pitch -in on
April 29 when the boys will be out cleaning
up the Village.
The nest meeting of the Scouting Group
Committee meeting will be March 2 at 8:15
pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

The rest of the evening was taken up with
knitting. The club wishes to thank the
Women's Institute for sponsoring them in
this project, "Working with Wool."
The second meeting was held February
21, at the church opening with the 4-H
Pledge. The home activities were answered,
along with the roll call, to describe the pro-
gress of your knitting. The remainder of the
evening was spent on knitting. Members are
to have two samplers completed to put in
their book.
The meeting closed with the 4-H motto,
"Learn to do by doing'. The club will meet
again this Tuesday evening.
AREA SPORTS CLUB
The Walton Area Sports Club has decided
to have a dance this year, instead of the An-
nual Poker Rally due to the lack of snow.
This Saturday evening, March 3, Wilbee Or-
chestra will play for a dance at the Brussels
Arena. Come out and help this club get new
park equipment for this aiming season, that
is available for children of the community.
Tickets are available from committee
members or may be purchased at the door.

Margaret Shortreed was Mistress of
Ceremonies for the program, consisting of a
sing song. Hope Jacobs and Rhonda Heise
played several flute numbers, Phyllis Mit-
chell, with the violin, and Margery Huether
on the piano, pleased everyone with a selec-
tion of old time music and hymns,
Happy Birthday was sung and Angel cake
was served assisted by Marion Godkin and
Ruth Axtmann.
PLAN JOINT MEETING
Both units of the United Church Women
will meet this Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at
the church. Guest speaker will be Julie Lee
from "Survival through Friendship House"
in Goderich. The executive, will meet prior
to that at 7:30 p.m. This mnth there will be
no unit meetings the second Wednesday of
the month.
Duff's joins with the Brussels churches for
the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 3
at 1:30 p.m. at Brussels Presbyterian
Church.
