Seahawks and Wellesley ted
If the Seaforth Seahawks are still playing
hockey in a week they are going to have to
do something they haven't done all season —
beat Wellesley on the road
The Merchants trashed Seaforth 11-2 Sun-
dae afternoon at Wellesley to knot their
best -of -five W -esters Ontario Athletic
Association Intermediate A quarter final at
one game apiece. Friday night at Seaforth it
was a different story. The Seahawks played
their best game of the year, according to a
pleased co -coach Chris Cardno, to trip the
Merchants 4-2 in a thriller at the Seaforth
arena It was the Seahawks', first victory
over the southern division's first -place
finishers this season Two other games in
Seaforth were ties But the Seahawks
haven't come within three goals of the Mer-
chants, while Losing all three games at
Wellesley this season They also lost one
game to Wellesley at a tournament
So the long and the short of it is: the Mer-
chants and Seaforth are now playing a best -
of -three and the Seahawks must do some
fast soaring away from home
Friday night would be a good time. That's
when the next game of the series will be
played, at Wellesley. Game four is here at
Seaforth Saturday night at 8:30 p.m., while
the fifth and final game of the series, if
necessary, it scheduler for Sunday at
Wellesley
Two quick goals at the end of the first
period turned a 2-1 game into a rout Sunday
afternoon as Wellesley took a 4-1 lead out of
the first period, and increased that to 8-1
