While working alone on Monday, March 3,
1986 a female variety store clerk was robbed
at knife point at approximately 5 p.m. The
twist to this story is, the location! Toronto,
maybe even Windsor you say... wrong! This
robberty took place in Fordwich, Ontario!
At approximately 5 p.m. a white male
described as 5'5", 150-160 lbs. with a stocky
build, light brown to blonde hair, blue eyes,
no accent and clean shaven, walked into
Miller's Variety Store. He then declared
that this was a robbery and pulled out a six
inch hunting knife,
As a car pulled up outside the store the
robber went behind the counter- and took ap-
proximately $437 out of the till. He then ran
out of the store. He was wearing a dark
leather jacket and a dark toque. He was last
seen driving west on Concession 6 of Howick
Township in a blue Jeep Renegade or CJ7
with a white vinyl or soft top roof. This vehi-
cle had Ontario licence plates on it

On January 18, 1989 Mrs. van den Akker's
Grade 4/5V was involved with a China Day.
The day started off with some chinese math,
followed by a session in the family studies
room to make some Chinese food. Somof
the foods we made were ... stir friedce,
stir fried vegetables, rice, egg drop soup,
pork rice, and for dessert we had fortune
cookies. We had our choice of chopsticks or
a fork to eat our meal with. Most of the
students enjoyed the meal. It was followed
by fun activities in the classroom.
