In order to register for Kindergarten, children must be five (5) years of age on
or before December 31, 1989. Parents are asked to bring Birth Certificate, Bap-
tismal Certificate and proof of Immunization. It is advisable that parents con-

SISTER MOIRA NAGLE
Sister Moira Nagle, formerly Mary Ber-
nadette Nagle of Dublin, died Wednesday,
January 25, 1989 in the Ursuline Mother
House Infirmary, Chatham. She was in the
72nd year of her life as an Ursuli.ne,
Religious of the Diosese of London.
A daughter of the late Joseph Nagle and
the former Anne Rowley, Sister Moira serv-
ed her community as a teacher. She taught
in Chatham, Dublin, Brescia and Windsor
and was Principal of "The Pines" High
School for many years_
Sheis survived by one sister, Sister
Liguori Nagle of Chatham and one brother
John Nagle of London.
Also surviving is a niece Bernadette Simp-
son of Florida.
A wake service was held Thursday,
January 26 in the Ursuline Mother House
Chatham, and a Mass of Christian Burial
was celebrated in the Ursuline Mother
House Chapel January 27. Burial was in St,
Anthony's Cemetery. The Hinnegan
Funeral Home in Chatham was in charge of
arrangements.
ELZA REINFELDS
Elza Reinfelds of Toronto, and formerly of
Seaforth, died Wednesday, January 25, 1989
at Toronto General Hospital. She was 73.
Born in Vilkene, Latvia, Miss Reinfelds
came to Canada in 1952 to join the nursing
staff of Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth.
She continued her career at Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of St. Andrews
Lutheran Church, Tor onto, and her minister
conducted her funeral service January 27
from Rosor/Morrison Funeral Chapel. In-
terment followed in York Cemetery,
Willowdale.
Pallbearers were Arnold Bruvers, Alf
Udris, Janis Markevics, Alexsis Kalnins,
Arvids Beitans and William Smith.
Friends were received at St. Andrews
Church to share in a dinner and fellowship.
Elza is survived by a sister and brother in
Latvia, and a sister and brother in
Australia. She will be missed by her many
friends in Canada.
Donations in Elza's memory may be
made to the Seaforth Community Hospital
Building Fund.
DANIEL ELMER STAUFFER
Many of Ontario's agricultural and co-
. operative . organizations lost one of their
pioneers. On Tuesday, January 24, 1989
Daniel (Dan Elmer Stauffer, 95, died of
heart failure on the farm where he was born
near Bright, Ontario,
From 1927 to 1967, Mr. Stauffer was a
director of two farm organizations founded
75 years ago. He was president and director
of United Co-operatives of Ontario and
director of its predecessor, United Farmers
Co-operative. Company, and director of its
counterpart, the United Farmera'of Ontario,
at the time the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture took over its functions. He
started in the co-operative movement by
joining the Ratho Farmers Club in 1914 and
was a member of the Ayr Co-op which be
helped organize.
He helped organize and served as a direc-
tor and president of the organization that
' grew to become The Co-operatorslnsurance
Group. He was also a director of Inter-
provincial -Co-operative, the former Ontario
Co-operative Union, Co-operative Union of
Canada (now Canadian •Co-operative
Association.) and the Canadian Co-operative
Credit Society. He was also instrumental in
organizing local credit unions and co-ops.

annual meetings and functions and was
always willing to speak about the philosophy
of co-operation.
Mr. Stauffer is survived by daughter
Helen and son-in-law Howard Collum of
Thornhill and their children, Melanie and
Philip; son Daniel G. of Bright and children
Laurel, Daniel M., Tim and Elizabeth; and
by son-in-law Elery Buckley of Boston and
children Susan, Brenda and Barbara.
Also surviving are a sister Carrie
Woolcott of Cambridge and two great
grandchildren.
Mr. Stauffer is predeceased by his wife,
the former Effie Kaufman; daughter Ruth
Buckley, grandchildren Daniel and Jeffrey
Collum and four brothers.
MARY GERTRUDE SPEARS
Mary Gertrude Spears died Saturday,
January 28, 1989.
The former Mary Caudle of Wiarton, she
is survived by her husband, Clarence
Spears; daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Carman
Howatt) of Clinton, Wilma (Mrs. Clare Vin-
cent) of Londesboro, Eileen (Mrs. Leo
Greidanus) of Seaforth and Helen (Mrs.
John Burley) of Wiarton; and son Kenneth
of Petawawa.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and
two sisters.
A funeral service was held from St. John's
United Church, Wiarton on Tuesday. Spring
interment Dunk's Bay Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy donations to
the Canadian Cancer Society or the Wiarton
Hospital Building Fund would be
appreciated.
MABEL GRACE CROUCH
Mabel Grace Crouch died Tuesday,
January 24, 1989 at the Seaforth Community
Hospital. She was 95.
The former Mabel McFaul, she ys surviv-
ed by two sons, Dr. John Thomas and Dr.
Stuart M., both of Toronto; and by a
daughter, Mary Denton of Belleville,
Also surviving are nine grandchildren and
five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Crouch was predeceased by her hus-
band, Dr Stanley- Stuart Crouch; one sister
Evelyn McNabb; and two brothers, Harold
and Leonard.
The family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth
where a funeral service was held Friday.
Spring interment Maitlandbank Cemetery.
CARL HEMINGWAY
Carl Hemingway died Monday, January
23, 1989 at the Clinton Public Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Eleanor Knight; four daughters, Ruth and
Jim Axtmann of Walton; Marion and
Lavern Godkin of Walton; Laurel and
Wallace East of Wawa; and Karen and Ron
Phillips of Aylmer; and four sons, Dr. Don
and Bernice of Manitoba; David and Pat of
Bayfield; Ross and Anne of Brussels; and
Ray and Elaine of Surrey, British Columbia.
Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and a
sister Elva Turvey of Grand Bend.
Mr. Hemingway was predeceased by two
brothers, Oswald and Bertram.
A funeral service took place Thursday.
January 26 at Watts Funeral Home,
Brussels Chapel, Brussels. Spring inter-
ment Cranbrook Cemetery.
In remembrance donations may be made
to the Brussels United Church Memorial
Fund or World Vision.
ANNA G. KLING
Anna G. Kling of Seaforth, died last' week
at her winter residence in Largo. Florida.
She was in her 77th
In her lifetime she made many contribu-
tions to the community in which she wa.S
born and where she spent most of her life
She was a member of the Order of the
Eastern Star, the Rebecca's, and the
Daughters of the Nile. She was a Past Presi-
dent of the Seaforth Community Hospital
Auxiliary, and an active member of the
First Presbyterian Church, where she was a
Past President of both the Ladies Aid and
Fireside Fellowship groups For many
years Mrs. Kling was a prominent member
• of the church choir.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frank
A. Kling; and is survived by daughter
Marilyn, her husband Glenn Chesney. and
their two children Barbara and Rob:
daughter Anne Kling -Furry, her husband
Lyle Furry, and children Lynn, and Gerry
and wife Cheryl, and their son Michael
McLaughlin; and a son Peter and wife.
Frances, and their two children. Sherri and
Allan.
Funeral services were held at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home on Tuesday.
January 31. Pallbearers were grandsons
Rob Chesney, Gerry McLaughlin and Allan
Kling and nephews Bill Curtis, Bob Ed-
munds and Frank Smith. Flower bearers
were Doug Rowcliffe and Ken Cardno

Crime Stoppers and the Ontario Provin-
cial Police are seeking your assistance to
help solve this 1985 break, enter and theft.
Between 6:15 pm on March 30, 1985 and
8:50 am on April 1, 1985 thieves undertook a
Hollywood type,break.andenter. They pried
the large back door to a vacant store with
what appears to have been a large crowbar.
Once inside the store the thieves took con-
siderable time sawing and breaking through
a concrete block wall into the adjacent store
(Nabours Store in Goderich) which left a
3'x2' hole, After quickly locating the safe

Lawn bowling social
The January Social of the Seaforth Lawn
Bowling Club was held Tuesday, January 24
at the Orange Hall. Fifty members and
associates were present with 10 tablee of
euchre and two of bridge playing.
High lady in euchre was Jessie Hillen and
lone hands, Edith McMillan, For the men it
was Bert Walters high and lone hands Lloyd
Pipe. Consolation prizes went to Minnie
Walters and Thelma Dale. For the bridge.
high scores were held by Esther Brady and
Gordon Scott while low scores went to Alice
Reid and Mel Brady.
Edna Bell, president of the ladies club. in-
formed members Donna Patterson was
presently in University Hospital, London
and Rika Van Bakel had a broken bone in
her arm also Art Finlayson was home from
hospital.
Hostesses for the everting were Thelma
Dale, Edna Bell, Edith Dunlop and Mary'
Connolly. The next social will be held Tues-
day, February 28 at 8 p.m. at the Orange
Hall.
