The Seaforth Broomball Association played hosted to a number of teams at its annual tournament this weekend. Mcltwralth photo mes over weekend On Tuesday-, January 24 the Novice tean, travelled to Wingham and defeated them 3-0 Jeremey McNichol started the scoring at the 5:47 mark of the first period'•on a break. away. With only 16 seconds'left to play, in that period Jeremey made a good pass to Michael Mullin who put it in the net The second period was scoreless. After only one minute of play in the third period, Jeremey McNichol was able to gel the puck on his stick and into the net durm a scramble in front of the net. Josh Dietz got the shut out for Seaforth On Saturday January 28 the boys played an exhibition game in Stratford against their major novice tearn. The Stratford team took an early lead and kept the threw goal lead until mid -way through the third period Jered Munro moved the puck front . Seaforth's end• along the boards and into Stratford''s corner. He then passed the puck out front to Josh Dietz who shot point blank The goalie made the save but Jeremey McNichol was there to tuck in the rebound Stratford scored again one minute later. Jered Munro again worked the puck into their end. There was a -scramble for the puck, Jered .picked it -up .•and .swung it around to Scott Van Dooren in the high slot. He was being checked so he passed it over to bis brother Mark at the circle. He made a nice shot and it went in over the goalie's shoulder The final score was Stratford 4 - Seaforth 2 . . • Junior ringette team downs St. Marys The Seaforth Junior ltingette teen, defeated St. Marys 17-1 rn St. Marys on January 17. The game started quickly for Seaforth. who scored the tirst goal Just one nunute and 16 seconds into play.
