last Tuesday with the opening games of the
Atom Hockey Tournament.
Three exciting games including a 1-0 loss
by the Seaforth Novice team sit the tone for
things to come. Friday saw things swing in-
to action as the hockey continued and a teen
dance was held. The new Optimist Winter
Carnival Snow Queen was announced at the
dance and the lovely Miss Leanne Whitmore
became the new Queen. She was crowned by
reigning Queen Miss Laurie Strong.
Saturday saw the hockey action get under-
way at 8 a.m. and continue until well past 10
p.m. The Snow Sculpture contest was
scheduled for the afternoon but was cancell-

of snow. The Winter Carnival dance got
underway around 9 p.m.
Sunday saw the hockey games continue
with the finals competing against the super
bowl and drawing extremely well.
Free popcorn and movies kept most of the'
youngsters occupied and a draw for two for
a weekend in Toronto was won by Bonnie
Bedard. The inflatable boat was won by
Ralph Johnston,

BST will in due course provide a manage- '
ment tool that can increase productivity by,)
an estimated 15 to 25 per cent, he said. "If,
as an industry, we reject its use, how on
earth can we explain and justify that our
supply management system encourages
productivity for consumers' benefit." Dairy
producers will have to ponder long and hard
before making a decision. "Controversial
topics, just like challenges, are here to be
faced. On my many years on your Board I
have conscientiously tried to decide what is
best for both you and the consumer," he
said.
