MENSBROOMBALL
RED RUSTLERS 0 - RAIDERS 3
Dave Hulley got himself two goals with
help from Ron Finlayson and Jack Holmes.
Jeff Campbell scored the third Raider goal,
unassisted. The Red Rustlers exhibited keen
playing but were a little short on goal
scoring.
GRADS 1- PARR LINE 5
Ed Salverda took charge and delivered
the ball straight forward into the net off a
pass from Paul Middelton. Don Wise con-
tributed two goals off passes from John Hart
and Paul Middelton. Len Van Wonderen,
needed no help to score Parr Line's fourth
goal. Goalie Randy Blake got the fifth when
he shot the ball to the other end of the rink
and it went into the net. The Grads only goal
was scored by Dana Bean with backup from
Paul Storey and smiley Craig Smith.
EASY RIDERS 4 - WINTHROP 0
John Hicknell scored the first Easy Rider
goal in this game with help from Rob
McGregor. Al Wynja, assisted by brother
Martin, got the second, Wayne Gingerich,
assisted by Brian Sowerby, also scored.
Rick Harris scored too, with help from Ed
Van Miltenburg and Terry Morey. The Win-
throp goalie played well, despite the score.
ROYALS 0 - KNIGHTS 3
Mark Louwagie scored off a rebound to
put the Knights on the scoreboard. Murray
Bell assisted. Deffenceman Jody Durand
snuck through the enemy lines and drove
the ball into the top corner of the net. Larry
Bertens and Al Haid helped. Joe Vink scored
the third goal, assisted by Steve Hulskof.
Both teams played well.
RIVER RATS 0 - DUMPERS 3
Frank Flanagan of the Dumpers put a
pass from Frank Verberne, through the feet
of the River Rat goalie. Murray Houston,
assisted by Bob Nash and Dennis Murray,
got the second Dumper goal, and Dale Ken-
nedy, assisted by Brett Finlayson, got the
third. River Rats played well and kept the
game at a low margin score. The Rats
goalie also made a few remarkable saves -
nice glove work Leroy!
LADIES BROOMBALL
COMMERCIAL 0 - WINTHROP 4
Donna Arts got two of Winthrop's goals in
this contest, assisted by Deb Murray,
Dianne Anderson and Susan Hulley. Dianne
Bennet got her first goal of the year,
assisted by Cheryl McClure. Tracy Bennett,
scored the fourth goal with no help. Com-
mercial Ladies showed vociferous attempts
but no goals were scored.
PARR LINE 5 - PERTH 0
Sandi Fremlin did her thing scoring a neat
goal off a nimble pass -by Glenda Chaput and
Joan H. Henderson. Heidi Elliott snuck up
from the defence position and popped in
Top teams take a fall in Thursday

Last week all three top teams took a fall
as the last place teams hammered their way
to the top with high scores.
In the opening match -up the Will-Nots
defeated the Wanderers by the score of 5 to
2. Dave Moody led the Will-Nots with three
good games of 262, 216 and 203 for 681. Ralph
Johnson was not far behind rolling 304, 215
and 143 for 672. Dan Bennewies also had a
fine night getting scores of 252, 208 and 190
for 650. Doug Vock led all -bowlers for the
Wanderers as he downed the pins for counts
of 286, 268 and 144 for 698. Doug Procter had
a very consistent night as he grouped scores

Don't miss all the exciting action this
weekend at the Seaforth and District Com-
munity Centres. The Egmondville-Seaforth
Broomball League will be hosting their AN-
NUAL BROOMBALL TOURNAMENT. This
is one of the biggest tournaments in the area
with both mens and ladies teams competing
over the three days.
The Blyth Festival Art Gallery will be
sponsoring an open, juried Quilt Show in the
summer of 1989. Submissions of original and
traditional designs to be made before March

The Big E's could not have stood taller as
they beat the Bowl Shippers to the punch in
every department for a seven point win. The
Big E himself was right on as Erich Matzold
shattered the pin to scores of 266, 250 and 241
for 757. Jon Knight also had a good night get-
ting counts of 218, 216 and 158 for 592. Doug
Leonhardt led the Bowl Shippers knocking
the pins down for games of 264, 194 and 185
for 643. Mark McKellar is still pressing for
high scores accounting for 251, 176 and 165
for 592.
Talk about being Aced, well, the Aces do it
best as they swept the Boomers for seven
another goal. Assisting was Barb Pepper.
Glenda Chaput scored two goals, needing
help only once by Joan Henderson and Heidi
Elliott. Another point for Sue Anne Van
Miltenburg when she scored a goal with
Sharon Whitefield and Deb Hannah
assisting. Perth goalie played outstanding
in net, with only a few mishaps occurring.
QUEENS 10 - JR. FARMERS 0
Cheryl Kruse scored five times for the
Queens in this contest. Brenda Empy and
goalie Norah Eckert helped. Janice Cairns
recorded a hat trick, with Pat -Koehler by
her side. Marg Henderson needed no help
when she shot the ball from behind the net
and it deflected off the opposing player and
directly into the net. Teresa Finlayson had
numerous chances but contributed only
once with Donna Arts assisting. The Jr.
Farmers had ample chances with
breakaways etc. but their plans never seem-
ed to follow through on the goal scoring.
In Ladies Broombal on January 25 at 8
p.tp. Jr. Farmers vs Perth, 8:50 p.m. Com-
mercial vs Queens, and 9:40 p.m. Parr Line
vs Winthrop.
In Mens Broomball on January 26 at 7:30
Parr Line vs River Rats, 8:20 Dumpers vs
Knights, 9:10 Raiders vs Royals, 10:00 Easy
Riders vs Red Rustlers, and 10:50 Winthrop

he- led the Aces by hammering the pins to
the count of 346, 257 and 212 for 815.
Marty Bedard also had a great night as he
totally manhandled the pins to the count of
235, 225 and 222 for 682. Deb Bedard was not
to be outdone as she is still in the hunt for
ladies high average as she shot 277, 179 and
173 for 629.
Neil Beuerman led the Boomers as he
slammed the pins to the score of 286, 221 and
220 for 727: Pat Ryan got back on track put-
ting together scores of 190, 187 and 175 for
562.

In mens intertown bowling, the Seaforth
Tigers downed New Hamburg by the count
of 281 to 19%.
Neil Beuerman led Seaforth by hammer-
ing the pins down for scores of 315, 300 and
223 for 1226. Murray Bennewies was close
behind shattering the pins to the count of
270, 262, 258 and 220 for 1184. Roger Edwards
also had a good day knocking the pins down
for scores of 276, 243, 212 and 211 for 1127.
Dennis Hohl led New Hamburg rolling
good scores of 280, 242, 223, 213 and 190 for
1148. Mike Outingdyke also had a good day
knocking the pins down for scores of 249, 226,
212, 206 and 192 for 1085.
Hondas conti a winning ways
The Hondas continued in their winning
ways as they took all seven points in seniors
bowling for the third consecutive week.
Elmer Dow scored a high single of 297 and
will have his choice of a pen or glass from
Starlight Lanes. Ladies' high triple was
Mary "Finlayson 537, Beryl Reid 522 and
Pearl James 507. Men's high triple was
Elmer Dow 644, Don Wood 643 and Bill Har-
ris 589.
Team standings are: Hondas 14 points,
Ramblers 12, Mustangs and Wild Cats each
have nine points and Subarus and Toyotas
each have six points. There were 29 bowlers
present.
UP FOR REBOUNDS - The Seaforth District High School senior boys basketball team
took on Central Huron District High from Clinton in the past week, and lost in the final
seconds by a score of 65-64. The midget boys from SDHS beat Central Huron 46-37,
