Voltage reduction
On Tuesday, January 17 there were
voltage reduction tests conducted in
Seaforth try Ontario Hydro. The purpose of
the tests was to locate operational and
customer problems in town as a result of the
voltage reductions.
Voltage was reduced by three per cent
between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. and by five per
cent between 6:30 and 7:30. Any customer
experiencing difficulties as a result of these
reductions should call the Seaforth Public
Utilities Commission.
At their first meeting of the new year the

tests were conducted Tuesday
Seaforth PUC commissioners discussed pro-
blems in disposing of brush (gathered as a
result of the utility's tree-
tffmming/maintenance program) since the
landfill site has been closed. It was sug-
gested that with Ministy of Environment ap-
proval the brush could be burned on land
owned by the utility, or at another approved
site, and the utility will be seeking such
approval.
The commissioners noted the passing of
former longtime employee Louis Charles
Reeves. Mr. Reeves worked as a laborer,
lineman then foreman, at the utility from

on his chin and a bruise on his arm.
Stephen appears to be the knowledgable
puppet. He helps both Nam and Joanne
overcome their fears and teaches them
about child abuse since he too is an abus-
ed child.
The discussions between Stephen, Nam
and Joanne vary with the different age
groups. For example, the slat involving
disclosures is directed more to the older
grades.
Because of the nature of the puppet
plays, Family and Children's services has
had to review some of the plays with the
Huron County Board of Education and the
Huron -Perth Separate School Board to
gain approval. Whether or not the
volunteers come into the schools is
generally left up to the principals.
The public school board doesn't have a
child abuse program in the system as yet,
however, the separate school board does.
To get the program off the ground will
take about $7,500. The committee has
received many donations from in-
dividuals, the School Teacher's Federation
and Family and Children Servic
But donations will be net on on-
going level. Throughout the program funds
will be needed to pay for milage for
volunteers travelling to and from the
schools, training volunteers and other
costs which tend to crop up throughout
various programs, Sehl said.
Sehl expects Joanne, Nam and Stephen
to go into the schools within the next month
or so. However, she stressed that
volunteers are always needed and train-
ing will be on-going as well.
