The Seaforth Seahawks used three shor-
thanded goals to help ring the old year out in
style with a 6-4 win over the defending -
champion Brussels Crusaders at the arena
Friday night. It was close, stilt anybody's
game until Greg Murray's insurance goal
into arvernpty net with 26 seconds left nailed
. it.
The Seaforth intermediates moved into
sole possession of second place in the
Western Ontario Athletic Associa 'on's
southern division with the victory, w 'ch
leaves them with 13 points from six
three losses and a tie. Wellesley, which
hosted the Seahawks to a 7-2 loas December

has two games in handl Brussels fell to third
with Friday's loss, two points back of the
Seahawks.

at the mid -way point of the third period
broke a 4-4 tie and stood up as the winner.
Jim Campbell also scored a pair of goals for
the Seahawks, and Kevin Williamson added
another. The Seahawks led 2-1 after the•first
period, 4-3 after the second 20 minutes of
play, and they took advantage of the
Brussels' powerplay by scoring three goals
against it. That was about the only dif-
ference between the squads in the well -
played and entertaining contest.
Kevin MCArter paced the Crusaders with
two'goals. Singles came from the sticks of
Randy. Clark and Ken Higgins. Referee
Gary Black tagged the Seahawks with 12 of

their first game of the day. Both teams
started out very slowly and consequently
there was no scoring in the fir t period.
It wasn't until halfway throtth the second
period that a goal was put on the
scoreboard. Unfortunately, it was for
Aylmer. However, with only 24 seconds left
to play in the second period, Mark Van
Dooren scored on a power play:
