Benninger were Ben and Mary Lynn from
Kitchener and Tom and Rose Ann and Tom-
my Simonsen on Christmas Day. Ben and
Mary Lynn stayed for a few days following
Christmas. Also joining them all for New
Year's Day are Jim and Mary O'Connor of
St. Columban.
Christmas Day at the home of Michael
and Pat MacRae were Jaynes and Marg,
Jenny and Ian MacRae, London, Ian and
Nora Ann Jackson and son Trevor from Lon-
don as well as Don and Eileen MacRae.

the Christmas holiday week were their

Staffa WI holds Christmas meeting

Freda Kerslake presided for the
Christmas meeting of the Staffs Women's
Institute on Tuesday evening in the
township hall, when 4-H members, their
mothers and leaders were guests.
Freda welcomed everyone and opened the
meeting with the Institute Ode, and Mary
Stewart Collect accompanied by Marion
McCaughey at the piano. Sixteen members
and nine visitors answered the roll call by
naming another country they would like to
visit at Christmas time.
Both Staffa No.1 club and Staffa No.2 club
had set up interesting displays, Staffa No.1
club's was on Creative Ideas for Leftovers
and Doris Jeffery commented on the display
and some of the club's activities. Nancy
Dearing coented on Staffa No.2 club's
display on s it Fruit Juice, Drink or
Nectar?
A special presentation was made to Kay
• Smale who has been " working with 4-H
members for over 15 years. Kay was thank-
ed for her services as a 4-H leader and
presented with a gift by Lillian Douglas,
Sharon Fell was presented with a gift by
Doris Jeffery, in recognition of successfully
completing 24 4-11 clubs, and Roberta
Templeman presented Joan Kerslake with'
gift of appreciation for successfully com-
pleting 18 4-1-1 clubs.
• P.R.O. Doris Miller presented gifts to
Karen Norris and Leeann Daw for suc-
cessfully completing 12 4-H projects and
Marjorie Visscher has also completed 12 4-11
projects but was unable to be present.
During a short business session the In-
stitute members agreed. to cater to a ban-
quet on January 18. A decision was made to
donate the kitchen contents to the township.
Appreciation was expressed for a very
generous check received for services
rendered during the plowing match.
Each member contributed a number for
the program, so all present enjoyed a varie-
ty of Christmas music, readings, memories
of early Christmas recitations, display of
quickie gifts, decorations and wrap, display
of dressing up your dinner table with ser-
viettes, display of tole painting and quilted
cushions, and draws for Christmas gifts
with Verle Mahon, Freda Kerslake, Joan
Kerslake and. Esther Smale were the lucky
winners. After closing with a short reading
on pine cones and, 0 Canada, Freda
Kerslake, Nan6 DeSring and Roberta
Templeman served a Christmasy lunch of
squares and punch.
Christmas Day guests with Clarence and
Cecilia Ryan were J.D. and Marg MacRae,
Jenny and Ian of London, Les, Laura and
Shannon Ward of Kitchener, Jim and Pat
Subject, Carrie, Ryan, Jeff and Nattn of
Kitchener, Don and Brenda Ryan, Matthew,
Stephen, David and Angela of London,
Gerry and Karen Ryan, Jason, Amanda and
Jeremy of RR 1 Dublin, John and Mary Jo
Nelson of Lucknow, Mark Ryan of London
and Debbie Core of Seaforth.
Louise Ryan of Kitchener spent a few
days over New Year's with her parents
Clarence and Cecilia Ryan.
Sympathy of the community is extended
to Joe and Rose Visser on the death of Mrs.
Visser's mother, ,Mrs. Paulina Michiels of
Kinkora. The funera f mass was on Friday,
December 23 at St. Patrick's Church,
Kinkora.

Krauskopf spent Christmas with Margaret's
niece, Ms. Dorothy Crowley, in Stratford.
With Kay Stapleton for a few days was her
sister, Mrs. Rita Newcombe from Stroud,
and they spent Christmas Day with their
niece, Barbara Box, in Seaforth.
On Boxing Day with Don and Eileen
MacRae to celebrate a family Christmas
were Sharon and David Pelting, Mark and
friend Shelley, Jennifer and friend Rick, all
from Meaford; Jack and Denise Kelly,
Stratford, Bill and Kathy Wolfe, Tracy and
Chad, Mitchell, and Mrs. Ada Davidson,
Ritz Villa, Mitchell. Joining them in the
evening were Elmer and Bernice Wolfe,
Louis and Verna O'Donnell from Mitchell.
Keith and Audrey Davidson returned
home from Sarasota last Friday, just in
time for Christmas. Audrey was admitted to
Kitchener -Waterloo Hospital due to injuries
she received from an accident 1 as earlier
reported) I. She is expected to be released in
a few days and will receive therapy at
home.,
Mrs. Millie Evans has returned home
from spending Christmas with her daughter
and son-in-law, Jack and Marie Cleary in
London.
Thanks for the news in the past year, and 1
look for mor of the same in '89.

Knox Presbyterian Church had their
'Christmas Concert on December 18 in the
jchurch. It included numbers by the Sunday
chool, Youth Group, readings, musical
!numbers, solos and Christmas Carols with
,Madalene Steiss accompanist. Stewart
Steiss did his usual good job as chairman.
;Lunch was served in the basement and a
;social time enjoyed.
We were treated to carol singing by the
young people from the Mennonite Church on
December 22 and from Knox Church on
,December 23.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Stevenson had their
family for Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Engel spent Christmas
with Monty and Mrs. Engel, Seaforth.
Lloyd and Mrs. Smith's family were home
for Christmas.
Wilfred and Mrs. Strickler and family
celebrated their Christmas in the Communi-
ty Centre.
Mrs. Mac Engel spent a few days in Lon-
don with Sharon and Susan. All the grand-
children were there on Boxing Day.
On December 27 Christmas celebrations
were held at the home off Mr. and Mrs. Mur-
ray Crawford. Those attending were Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Bray and girls of Belmore,
Mr. and .Mrs. Glen Crawford and family of
1Monerieff, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
Crawford and boys of Moncrieff. Mr. Earl
Pfohl of Listowel was also in attendance at
his sister's home.
