Wayne Allan of Wat- erloo was the' minister in charge On Sunday, (Dec. 19 in Knox Church. He is Working with Family Counselling in Kitchener. His wife and parents accompanied him. He expects to take the service here again on Jan. 2. Following the service on Dec. 19 members of the congregation joined with the Sunday School in the singing, of carols. Later all went to the basement for sandwich - tea and coffee. The S.S. pu ils had an exchange of gifts. Mr. ' and Mrs. Wilfred Strickler attended a 40th • ann. celebration in -honor of Ken and Olive Zinn on Sat. • evening Dec. 18 in White- church. Approximately 35 mem- bers of the Wood family celebrated their Christmas in the Community Centre on Dec. 19. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Grisdale off North Bay are visiting over Christmas with their son Earl and Mrs. Grisdale and family. Hydro was off during the i•` night 'on Saturday varying from 45 min. to several hours m different areas. Some residents were caught on time on Sunday morning arriving somewhat late for church. Miss Nancy Jean Craig, - Toronto, visited Mr. and Mrs Jack Conley on Sunday. The enclosed verses were , received in • a Christmas greeting. Hope things don't get that bad. JOE WALKER 357.3559 "While Shepherds Watch- ed" was the hymn which opened the Dec. 1 meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of Knox Presbyterian Church at the home of Mrs. Glen McKercher. Christmas scriptures were read by Mrs. McKercher with comments given by Mrs. Wm. Elston Mrs. Ross Gray' chose a skit, depicting Elizabethe writing, to her cousin Mary inviting her to come and visit which she did. Mary was played by Laura Jenkins, and Marys' neighbour played by Beryl Kirton. Belle Grant played the shepherd boys mother. Mrs. Gordon Mundell read scripture and installed the following officers for 1983.
