(photo by Wassink) Santa ca e Correspondent JOAN CRONIN 345-2772 . The season to be jolly, has ended for another year. The prelents have all been open- ed and the toys have been played with from morning till night. New apparel which was the wrong colour or too small is being exchanged for the proper ones. The turkey and stuffing that was left over is being cleaned up --and all those goodies and treats will ' not last til the end of the week. The Christmas, season was not quite the same, outside the snow all vanished and left us with mud and grass. But indoors the joy and good spirit was overflowing. For us like in most homes on Christmas Eve and Christmas -Day we were joined by family members and friends who helped to spread the joy and. laughter among one anodler, to bring us more closely united as one. A gift is given in many ways and for those who joined us during the season, you have given us a special gift of friendship, which cannot be exchanged. traded or sold, only treasured for it is worth more than gold. The year 1982 is now coming to an end -and the new year is about to begin. New hopes and dreams are brought to live with the thoughts of another full year ahead of us. , Looking back over the past year some people only see pain and suffering while to town others recollect times of plea- sure and prosperity. With the passing of each year one experiences birth and death, success in' some things. fail- ures in others, tears of sadness and tears of joy. No matter' how bad things were today or in the past there is always tomorrow or next week or better still . all next year. ' Many New Years resolut- ions are made and many are broken: But good intentions are better than none at all. At least it shows you care and you tried. With the beginning of each new year a multitude of ladies start their'diet again in hones of shedding a few of the extra bumps and rolls in hopes of reclaiming that hour glass figure. For some of us it is like searching for the lost trea- sure, we get close but never really find it. Others stop smoking while others just try to be. more conscientious citizens and work for the betterment of all. To' all who read this col- umn. I wish you' all a very Happy, Healthy and Prosper- ous New Year. ••• The St. -Patric s School in Dublin held th it annual Christmas Concert t week to the delight of all the parents.
