Christmas service_ held
at Hensall church
The theme of the Christ-
mas Church service at Carmel
Presbyterian Church on Sun-
day was "Rejoice For The
Light Has Come". Miss Mary
Thompson was leader for the
service. The scripture read-
ings were taken in party•by
the choir assisted by Rev.
Knight. Mrs. Edith Bell and
Mrs. Margaret Hoggarth.
with Miss Thompson leading.
The choir. under the direction
of Mrs. Dorothy Taylor with
Mrs. Joan Keyes presiding at
the organ sang. The kinder-
garten class sang "Merry
Christmas" and• "Away in a
Manger". Scott Bell, Bevan
Moir and Robert Vplland
from the Sunday School were
the Shepherd boys. Miss
Jane Pollock sang two solos.
Miss Carolyn Love gave a
reading and the Junior Choir
sang. A candlelighting core-
mony was presented by Miss-
es Donna Taylor. Janet Hog-
garth, Cathy Troyer. Kathy
'Love. Susan Mousseau. Gifts
for Jesus were presented by
Angela and Minday Bell.
Miss - Carolyn Love played
organ solos.
Mrs. Margaret Hoggarth
called Rev. apd Mrs. Knight
forward and-BBrian Moir pre•
sehted them with a gift from
the congregation for which
they:y both expressed thanks.
"Unto Us A Child Is Born''
by Carter, and "Child Jesus
Come To Earth This Day" by
Hatch were the anthems by
the Senior Choir on Sunday
morning at the United
Church. The choir was under
the direction of Ralph Topp,
organist and choir director for
the day.
Mr. McDonald spoke on
the subject "Favoured By
God" and said Mary was
favoured by God. Her life was
not easy. but she had real joy.
She was open to God acting
upon her. and through her.
and shared in the important
task of saving the world" he
said,
