Centnaires drop four straight
BY GARY GRAY Cage. The Hawks had only 8
shots on the Seaforth net in
the first period.
The second frame saw a
more even matchup with
Mitchell edging the Cente-
naires 11-10 in shots on goal
and both teams scoring
twice.
Mark 'Murray gave the
Centenaires a 2-1 lead '6
minutes into the period and
the score stayed that way
until the 14:30 mark -when
Pauli notched his second to
even the score at 2.goals a
piece. Just over a minute
later the Centenaires regain-
ed the lead as Dave Erb
rifled a high drive that
Fischer never even got a
chance to move on. However
Just 11 seconds later on their
first rush down the ice the
Hawks once again knotted..
the score as Murray Guy
scored with assists going to
'Pauli and Dean Westman.
In the third stanza the
Hawks seemed to put more
pressure on the Centenaires
in their own end thus forcing
them into giveaways.
Finally, with just under
four minutes remaining in
the game Mitchell Captain
Dean Westman bet Centen-
aire goalie Dan lylcClure for
the game's win mg goal.
Mitchell outshot the Cent-
enaires 8-7 in the period. A
total of only 10 minutes in
penalties was called in the
entire game by referee Pau

six minutes and Mitchel
LUCAN 5 CENTENAIRES 2
The Lucan Irish spotted
the Jr. Centenaires a 1-0 first
period lead and then roared
back with three unanswered
second period goals as they
downed the Centenaires 5-2
in Lucan Wednesday night,
Lucan completely domi-
nated the game and if it
hadn't been for the good
goaltending off the Cente-
naires' Dan McClure the
score could easily have been
much hrgher. The Irish pep-
pered McClure with a total of
51 shots while the Centenair-
es managed only 22 at Lucan
goaltender Chuck Stoffle,
Jamie McClinchey scored
for the Centenaires in the
first period and Dave Erb
connected on the power play
early in the third period to
account for Seaforth's scor-
ing. A total of 40 minutes in
penalties were called in the
game with the Centenaifes
receivine 22 of them.
MITCHTELL 4 SEAFORTH 3
The Mitchell Hawks spoil-
ed the Centenaires home
opener in the new Arena as
they got sarong goaltending
from Dave Fischer enroute to
a 4-3 victory before a large
crowd on Friday night.
The Centenaires came out
flying in the first period and
took a 1-0 lead as Jim
Campbell scored with Johri'
Dale and Dave Murray draw-
ing assists at the .1:18 mark.
Seaforth seemed to have
complete control of the per-
iod as they tested Fischer
with a total of 18 drives, with
the most of them being good,
hard, point blank shots.
Mitchell evened the score
with less than a minute
remaining in the period as
Jeff Pauli scored his first of
two goals while the Hawks
