Budget for 1983 was presented by the treasurer Mrs. Bert Faber amended and aoornw-i Mrs. Robert Kinsman in - Traduced the guest for the evening. Mrs. John Broad - foot, Brucerield who spoke on the Chrismons. She had examples of these symbolic Christian Christmas orna- ments and explained careful- ly their special meaning. Mrs. Broadfoot was thanked by Mrs. John Sinclair who also gave the courtesy re- marks. Mrs. Turner review- ed the January meeting and brought the Christmas even- ing to a close with the poem, "A Prayer for Christ- mas Day." Deanna Brock presented the Christmas devotional. Nine- teen members answered the roll call with a Christmas wish. Shirley McAllister showed pictures and told of their trip to Italy. Austria and Switzerland. Joyce Pepper was present- ed with a gift from the Unit in thanks for her work as leader for three years. • The special project money was received and it was decided to send it to help the blind. s visit r -s Ann Brock and Beatrice Richardson served lunch. SENIORS (ENJOY CHRISTMAS '' ENTERTAINMENT The "Three Links" Senior Citizens held their Christmas Party on Tuesday evening with a very good attendance' enjoying a turkey dinner. President Eileen Rannie welcomed everyone with Vera Ross at the piano. A moment of silence was ob- served in memory of a former member Bert Horton. Alex McBeath and Evelyn were responsible for the program. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Luther led in singing Christ- mas carols and Mrs. Luther and Mrs. Nan Britton sang a duet. Bob Heywood played several numbers and accom- panied himself on the guitar. Elgin Nott of Seaforth played several violin selections ac- companied by his wife Edith. HENSALIL NATIVE (DIES IN TORONTO Mr. and Mrs. Don Joynt attended the funeral of Rob- ert Laird Joynt, long time executive with Kodak Inc. who died suddenly in St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto last Sunday. He is survived by his wife Ruby Lillian, son Larry and Betty (Gilskv), both Larry and Betty (Gilskv), brother of Dr. Harry Joynt, Toronto and, the late Dr. William Joynt. London. Loved by eight grandchild- ren. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Joynt, Hensall. Funeral service was held on Wednesday from Humbercrest United Church. Interment in Park Lawn Cem- etery. Toronto. HENSALL PUBLIC SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT December 15 the Hensall Public School held its annual concert, with a ve7.11arge ensai i crowd in attendance. It was particularly pleasing to see so many families. Proceedings got underway with a few brief remarks from the principal, Robert Rae - burn and the songs were,sung by a Junior Choir of grades one to four pupils. Kindergarten class sang a variety of Christmas 'music. The grade two class with help from grade three presented a play "Christmas in. Mother Goose Land" while .grades 5-6 participated in three skits. A square dancing group from grade four performed three numbers while the grade 3-4 pupils were in- volved in a play "Standing Up For Santa" andthe grades 1.2 class staged the play "Twas the Night Before Christmas". The senior choir contributed two numbers. Grades 7-8 students con- cluded the program with "Gift Ideas". The senior students and staff members served lunch to the audience. DOC; FOOD SPECIAL!
