The stockings are all neatly
hung while the children ea-
gerly await dear old Santa to
fill them with lots of goodies
and trinkets for young and old
alike. The season brings
people together from far and
near to share together as a
fancily all the merriment and
cheer.
Gifts are exchanged as
tokens of friendship and love
and blessings from -the birth
of the Christ Child come from
above.
For the sick and shut-ins it
is a sad and lonely time but
we can brighten their day by
spending a few' minutes with
them and let them know we
are all just fine. Set an extra
place at your table on this
special night for there is
always room for one more, as
during the Christmas season
there is always food galore.
'So to all you kind and
thoughtful people who have
taken the time to read this
column in the past few
months, to von and yours I
wish : Merry Christmas;
Peace on Earth,and Goodwill
to all men.

• Dec. 2, the W.M.S. of
Cromarty Presbyterian
church held their combined
Christmas and annual meet-
ing at the home of Betty
Dow. A Christmas tide Poem
was read by Edna Stoneman
whoresided. The ladies
unitedina Christmas Prayer
following the singing of the
Advent Hymn,
"Are we ready for Christ-
mas?" was the thought-
provoking theme of Betty
Dow's topic. The worship
service, in which all mem-
bers took part, dealt with
some of the traditional sym-
bols of Christmas, and was
interspersed with Christ-
mas • carols , and suitable
Scripture passages. Roll call
proved interesting when
each member recalled a very
special Christmas. Agnes
Lamond reported and cards
sent and five visits made to
sick and shut-ins.
Lillian Douglas read the
minutes of the November
meeting and Lila McKaig
gave the treasurer's report.
During the business, con-
ducted by the president
Dorothy Miller, reports were
read which indicated a very
busy and successful year.
The slate of officers will
remain unchanged for 1983.
Bells, poinsettia, and a
Christmas tree decorated the
auditorium of the church for
Sunday morning's church
service. The sacrament of the
Lord's Supper was celebrat-
ed with the Rev. Kenneth
Knight in charge. Next Sun-
? day the service will be held
downstairs rm of a
Christmasepagew aesented
by the Sunday school.
