Through song, drama,
scripture and prayer this
enthusiastic group of young
people presented a • very
challenging message in their
service which had as a theme
"Hey, I'm not Religious, 1
just love the Lord".
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Grasby entertained the
Morris Township Council at
their home Friday evening,
November 26.
During the evening pre-
sent members of the council
presented retiring councillor
Clare Van Camp with a
small gift in recognition of
his four years of service in
the council.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stone-
house visited Sunday even-
ing with Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth MacDonald of Tees -
water .

who have recently moved to
our village.
Mrs. Rob Roy of Lakefield
spent last week visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Anderson and sister and
Brother-in-law,. Mr. and
Mrs. Rick Ball of Hanover.
Nine tables were in play at
the weekly euchre which was
held at the W.I. Hall on
Wednesday evening, No-
vember 24.
Winners were: high lady,
Mrs. Laura Johnston; most
Ione hands, . Mrs. George
Drehmann; low lady, Mrs.
Herb Clayton; high man,
Gordon Walker; most lone
hands, George Inglis; low
man, William Gow.
There will be euchre again
Wednesday. December I. A
shoot party will be held
Thursday, December 9 start-
ing at 8:00 p.m. Everyone is
welcome.
Mrs. James Hunter, pres-
ident of the Wo-
men's Institute, opened the
November meeting with the
poem, "Thought for the
Day". The Opening Ode was
then sung, followed by
everyone repeating the Mary
Stewart Collect and the sing-
ing ot 'O t_anada".
The president gave a spe-
cial welcome to the visitors.
The roll call, "A short poem
or quotation remembered
from school days," . was
answered with many inter-
esting and humorous memor-
ies.
Mrs. Clare Van Camp read
the minutes of the October
meeting and gave the financ-
ial statement. The corres-
pondence was then read.
Mrs. Walter Scott gave the
detailed account of the area
convention.
It was agreed to send
donations to Family and
Children's Service and the
War Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Norman Coultes led
in two songs and announced
the motto, "Let's learn from
each other". She introduced
the speaker, Mrs. S Jean
Schoebl, who chose as her
topic "Childbirth".
The topic was choosen as

that bonding between
mother, father and baby is
very important and` she talk-
ed about research being done
to detect abnormalities in the
fetus.
Pregnant women should
avoid smoking, drinking and
drugs because of the harmful
effects they may have on the
unborn child, she cautioned.
Everyone then had a
chance to 'explain her gift
ideas and Christmas ideas
which were on display.
The December meeting
will be held December 114 in
the W.I. Hall. It will take the
form of a potluck supper and
members may bring husband
or a friend .
The offering and pennies
for friendship were taken.
The meeting closed with the
singing of "God Save the
Queen" and grace. Mrs.
Coultes and Mrs. Richard
Moore served lunch.

Guests were present from
Blyth, Londesboro and Sea -
forth at the November meet-
ing of the Walton Women's
Institute on Wednesday eve-
ning. 1st Vice president Mrs.
Ken McDonald welcomed
everyone then read a poem.
"The Clock of Life" following
the opening exercises. Mrs.
Lavern Godkin was pianist.

In the correspondence a
card of thanks was read from
Town and Country Home -
Makers. Roll call was answer
ed by members on "Do you
believe resolutions are effec-
tive and why?".
Mrs. Jim Axtmann gave a motto: "You pledge to your-
self' written by Mrs. Alvin
McDonald.
There were six tables of

There is to be an exchange of
gifts valued at $2. Each
member is to bring somebody
with them as a guest to the
meeting.

candle. Advent says to us
there is hope. The chat with
the children was on Faith.
Rev. Swan sang a solo.

congregation jpining in with
chorus. The scripture lessons
from Ezekiel 3:1-15 and He-
brew 4 was read by Mrs.
Dianne McCallum.
Next Sunday will be Com-
munion and Bible Sunday
with the monthly unified
board meeting to be held at 8
p.m. Hosts Mr. and Mrs. Neil
Mc -Gavin.
Weekend visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Herb Traviss were

In Clinton Hospital this
past week were Wilfred
Shortreed and W.J. Leeming.
Mrs. Viola Kirkby spent a
couple of days at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Machan,
Goderich with her grand-
children who returned home
with her for the weekend
while their parents were away
at a convention.
