Two divisions in House League BY BILL WEBER The House League hockey, this year: will be available to all players registered with the Seaforth' and District Minor Hockey program. This league will consist of two separate divisions. The first division will contain players of mid- get. bantam and pee wee age while the second division will be comprised of atom and novice players. An attempt has been made to classify all the players according to their ability. The reason for doing this. was to enable each player to play against people of the same ability each shift on the ice. Consequently each shift on turn on the ice will be three minutes in length with "A" players from the one team playing against the "A" players of the other team. When their three minute shift is over. then the "B" players from each team will play against each other for three minutes. Modifications will be used when players are absent. If a team is short in number of "A" players. then "B" play- ers may move up and play with the "As". If the team Tacks "B" players. then "A" players may play with "B's". but will not be allowed to score. In both divisions. there will be no body contact and no slap shots. Players who are not mem- bers of an all star team, will have a separate practice time. These practices will usually be on Fridays, although there will be some occasions when practices will be held on other days of the week. The Novice and Atom players will have their first practice on Dec. 10 in the new arena at 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Midget, bantam and pee wee players will participate the same day from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The first games for both divisions will be on Saturday Dec. 11 in the new arena. The mites will remain sep- arate from the two divisions of the house league and for now will practice only on Saturdays. Their first session will begin on Dec. 11 in the new arena from 11:35 a,m. to 12:30 p.m. Coaches are needed to help with the organization of the house league teams on Satur- days.
