Karen Coultes was one of the graduates. Dr. Ronald Taylor, Dr. Ronald Dunphy and Mr. Ronald Kellsey of St. John's. Newfoundland, spent a few days at the Royal Winter Fair last week and spent the weekend with the former's paretns, Mr. and Mrs. Jack raylor, also visited with other relatives. Mrs. Laura Johnston and Mrs. Clarence Yuill visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston and girls of ilderton. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ball (Nan- cy Anderson) of Hanover on the birth of a son, Matthew Richard on November 18 at the Hanover District Hospit- al. Mrs. Dorothy Telfer of Weston spent a few days with Mrs. Earl Anderson last week. Ten tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall on Wednesday evening, Nov- ember 17. (Wassink photo) Demand good at stockyards The market at Brussels Stockyards traded on a good demand for both steers and heifers. Pigs sold sharply higher on a light offering. There were 1200 cattle and 841 pigs on offer. Choice Steers -74.00 to 78.00 Good Steers -71.00 to 74.00 A steer consigned by Ross Durnin of RR2, Lucknow weighing 1250 lbs. sold for 78,00 with his offering of 18 steers averaging 1113 lbs. selling for an overall price of 76.20. Six steers consigned by Maple Emblem Farms of Dungannon averaging 1181 lbs. sold for 77.10 with their offering of 28 steers selling for an overall price of 76.30. Lulu Kerr was in charge of the program and played "the desert song" on the tape recorder and a reading "Shrink in a mink." and had a cake and guessing contest. Winnifred Edgar was the best guesser. Lunch was served by Mary Yuill and Glenna Stephenson and a social time enjoyed. Correspondent MRS. Brent Johnston of Welland spent the weekend at the same home. Mr, and Mrs, John Van de Kemp visited Mr. Tim Van de Kemp in Embro and Mrs Van de Kemp and baby son in Stratford General Ho- spital. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Haskins were supper guests of Mrs. Lyle Fitch of Wingham on Sunday. Mr. Wm, Wright is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London.
