Other guests of Miss Broadfoot were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Haswell and family of Fergus and Mr. Wayne Haves of Duntroon. Lorne & Viola Lawson hosted a dinner party on Friday evening Oct. 8 in honor of Warren and Irene Whitmore for their 40th wedding anniversary with 30 of their friends attending. During the evening progressive euchre was played. Winners: Ladies high Irene Whitmore, ladies lone hands -Hazel McCartney, ladies consolation -Florence Car- terAhen's high -Harold Pethick, men's lone hands Alden Crich, men's consolation -Warren Whitmore. Marie Flynn read the address, Viola Lawson presented Warren and Irene with a Tiffany table Tamp, and an anniversary cake made by Marie Flynn. Warren and Irene thanked all those present for the gift and the enjoyable evening. Ken and Helen Buchanan of Williams Lake B.C. called on Mrs. Florence McLlwain on Thanksgiving Day. They were visiting with relatives in the area. Mr. Harold Whyte spent the Thanksgiving weekend with his son and daughter -in law Mr. and Mrs. Doug Whyte of Port Carling.
