Ont- ario on Sept. 25. He had moved from Winthrop to Almonte with his family in 1942. Plans were made for the fall rummage sale on Oct, 23 and the Christmas euchre on Sat. Nov. 20. The St. James CWL is holding a mixed euchre in the school on Oct, 27 at 8:00 p.m. The "Right to Life" mem• berships run from Oct. to Oct. and are now due. " Guest speaker was Mrs. Betty Beuttenmiller who spoke on quilting and displayed a couple of quilts. She said not only does a quilt keep you warm, but you can become- much closer to a neighbour or acquaintance by working together over a quilt. Also it is a good way to make money for community projects. Betty organized this quilt- ing project with ample help from other supportive town ladies, calling themselves "The Little Stitchers" when it was just learned the new Community Centre was ac- cepted, In the past few months, through selling tick- ets on their quilts, they have to date, donated 84,000 ,,re ARNOLD J.
