At a joint meeting of the
BIA and the Van Egmond
Foundation on Monday even-
ing, final plans were drawn
for the 1982 Ciderfest, Sep-
tember 25 and 26.
It will be the most exten-
sive festival of events in the
eight year history of Cider -
fest. Activities, begin with an
apple pancake°breakfast Sat-
urday morning on the Main
Street, sponsored by the
Seaforth. Lions; Club.
Main Stteeit from John St.'
to Market Street will be
closed for most of the daynto'
accommodate displays, en-
tertainment and activities
during the Saturday events.
A stage will be set up at the
West end of Gouiinlock St. to
provide a presentation area
for the entertainment sche-
duled every half hour which
concludes with a street dance
featuring "Free Spirit" from
8 p.m. until midnight.
Events at the Van Egmond
site will also cover the two
day schedule with a highlight
this year being a black
bowling event. After a couple
of hours of jovial fellowship,
the ladies were piped back on
their bus by our President
Peter Malcolm. We hope
their short visit will help to
give them fond memories of
Seafortji when they return to
powder '.'Huron. Tract Rend-
ezvous" taking place over
the full weekend.
Because of the large num- .
ber of activities- a special
souvenir booklet is being
prepared for distribution
through area weekly news-
papers. The publicaton will
contain all of the details and
times for the complete Cider -
fest festival.
At press time special ar-
rangements were being com-
pleted for an English double
decker tour bus to provide
'transportation between the
downtown area and the Van
Egmond grounds from 10
a.m. until 4 p.m. on Satur-
day.
Space is still available for
displays, exhibits and vend-
ors. Service and church
groups are invited to partici-
pate in any theme -related
way. Detailed information
can be obtained by calling
Dorothy Williams at 482-
3326 or Paul Carroll at
527-1860.
