For some this picture shows their exact feelings, but for other moms whose first or last child skips happily off to school with 1. their new school hag and nes% lunch box tilled with yon iii treats, it is a sad feeling. Mind you the short ones' are a lot easier to hug than the h'ig ones because dear old mom has to find the kitchen stool to stand on in order to he noticed. Remember all those jobs that were left for the day when thc kids went back to school? Now they are before .ou and believe it or not you cannot nettle down to do them. After two months of noise and squabbling. the silence is unbearable. Don't worry you will soon adapt. Tu.. pile of mending will begin to decrease and the daily routines will be right on Schedule. Last week 1 mentioned the holiday weekend and -your last chance for a vacation and we did just that. Boblo Island is. a. fabulous place to take children.— They can go on a ntultitide of different rides for all ages from the merry-go- round to the huge roller toaster. I ant not as adventur- ous as our children so I soon learned that the merry -go., round was more my speed after getting a cold shower on the log ride and I am sure my heart is still at.the top of the ferris wheel, You can be certain that I didn't venture to ride the big roller coaster as I can just iNtagine where my lunch would have been. • By the'end of the day as we returned by boat from_ the island with aching feet and many tired little bodies. we drove to Chatham to spend the night before returning home. When you are at home the child -en can always find some excuse for staying up for a few more minutes, but when you get to a motel they can't wait to finish their supper so they can put on their pyjamas and head for bed. Mind you they have no intention cif going to sleep. culate Conception Church in Stratford. The holidays are over for another year and the time has come to settle down to more serious things. So listen and learn for should that be learn to listen?) and the gifts of understanding and wisdom will be yours. I am sure there were a great many people who were home visiting with relatives and friends this past weekend but since we were away for a short holiday, 1 do not have any of the news. Next week I'll be back on the job with all the details of the happenings 1 have missed and informa- tion on the beginning of the school year. Staffa WI' hears librarian Correspondent MRS.
