clubs of this comniuniten-
tertained the members of the
Women's institute at a meet•
ing last Wednesday evening
with their quizzies. exhibits
on the art of making bread
and decorations from play
dough.
Susan Elston played two
numbers on thc piano and
Donna Stecklc> played the
bango. Julie and June Stamp-
er played a short duet on the
piano.
Mrs. Wm. Peacock was the
convener and the hostess for
this meeting. Roll call was.
"What is your favourite
sweet dough bread? Do you
buy it or make it?'' Several
answers were. potato. iced
buns and chelsea rolls.
Draws were made' on a
teddy bear bread and turtle
bread by Elaine Campbell.
Mrs. Jack Nicholson and
Mrs. Carl Johnston were the
inners. Mrs, Cecil Payne
thanked the 44H leaders and
girls and the money from the
draw was donated to the three
clubs.
Mrs. Charles Mathers
opened the meeting.

to a luncheon in Toronto in
honour of the 85th anniver•
sary of the founding of the
Woolen's Institute.
A lunch of homemade Nuns
with cheese made by the 4-H
girls and leaders brought the
meeting to a close.
Mrs, Jack Nicholson and
Mrs. Cecil Payne will be
hostesses for the meeting in
the Community Hall. Sept. 8
at 8 p.m. Roll call will be
"Have you counted your
blessings today? Name one".
There will be slides and a
commentary on the Sudan by
Mrs. Gordon McBurney.
Lunch is the responsibility of
Mrs. Carl Johnston and Mrs.
Robert Perry.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bailey
of Oak Lake. Manitoaa visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Burns
Moffatt and other relatives in
the area.

Busy week at Legion
While taking notes at the
meeting,, I,would say there is
a, big schedule ahead of us.
The Brussels Legion and
Optimist Club are having
bingo every other Wed, eve-
ning. 1 might be too late with
this paper for the bingo on the
25th, but the neiit will be two
weeks later, Sept. 8.
There will be a corn roast at
the conservation park in
Brussels on Aug. 29, at one
o'clock p.m'. and we hope to
see a lot of the Legion
members and their family's,
