Entertainment ,at Huron - view on Friday, August 13 was provided by Elaine and J'erorne Fabian with their guitars. There was ..a good attendance to see and hear this couple peiform. Their program consisted of solps and ducts of gospel, country western and folk songs with guitar accompani- ment. There was something for everyone to'enjoy and residents look forward to 'having the Fabians back again. Residents filled the new auditorium Sunday morning as they listened to Rev, Wittich 'deliver his farewell sermon. It was an 'inspiring personal message and touch- ed the heart of everyone. Mr. Wittich spoke on his reasons for leaving the church at Blyth to accept his new charges at Listowel. Using the parable that man' sows the seed and another waters it with only God able to make it grow. he likened this to the growth of the Christian Church. Tuesday was a beautiful day and ideal for the barbe- cued harnburgs and hotdogs for residents of Normal Care. Residents from Special Care met in the new hall for a social time and watched programs from the video tapes', The Rev. Norman Pick joined residents for coffee and a get -acquainted session. On Tuesday evening sev- eral volunteer drivers of the staff and members of Unit 3 of 151 in Brucefield United Church with their cars kindly trans- ported 30 residents of Huron - view to see the show "Annie" at Brownie's Drive In in Clinton. Through the cour-, tesy of Mr, and Mrs. Lorne Brown to them. residents extend grateful appreciation. Wednesday morning Mary Van Camp. Margaret Mur- ray, Pat Thurlow and Frank Bissett left on a ten-day• vacation to Albion Falls Cen- tre. They were accompanied by Norman Gowing and John McTaggart. The birthday party on Wednesday afternoon in the auditorium was sponsored by the Brussels W.I. The pro- gram consisted of musical selections. solos, duets. tap dancing, and a baton routine. Mrs. Josie Cunningham expressed words of apprecia- tion and an invitation to come again. Thursday afternoon Bible Study was held in the chapel. Mrs. Prouty led the service when a Bible contest was started. The one winning the contest will receive a prize. Several of the residents were pleased to see Father Paul Mooney of Zurich visit- ing friends in the home. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mason of Windsor visited with Mrs. Jean Wilson. Mrs. Helen Ross and Mrs. Lorne Mac- Donald of Seaforth were guests of Mrs. Pearl McFar- lane last week'. Father Thom- as McQuaid of St. Lucie B.W.I., visited his sister Mrs. Irene Allen of Goderich and relatives in the home. Kids perform VcIaloolim Yens Correspondent NORMAN EAST 482.3782 On Monday, August 16. the Vanastra playground put on it talent show at the Vanastra rec-centre. The children performed skits, step -danced, did tumb- ling routines. sang songs and played the piano for a small audience of parents. The children worked hard perfecting their acts and it wakall worth it. They did an excellent job on the talent show! The Stanley Township Hall was the site of the Varna playground talent show on Thursday. August 19. The children worked hard on the production on such skits as "The Murky Mon - stet Foiled Again" and "Bob and Dnug MacKenzie," A puppet show, songs. a dance. and piano playing were also included in the Varna talent show. The Bine Jay baseball game against the New York Yankees is the last trip of the summer. The bus is leaving the ree centre at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28 and is returning by 1:30 p.m. This marks the end at another successful play- ground summer program. It is hoped all the children enjoyed the summer.
