HODGES—CUTHBLL
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cuthill were rharried July 31 at
Ontario Street United Church, Clinton, Ontario. Reverend
Norman Pick officiated at the double ring ceremony. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. Hugh Hodges.
Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cuthill of Seaforth are the,
groom's parent Miss Helen Elliott, cousin of the groom
sang.` traditionwedding music accompanied by the
organist. the groom's aunt Mrs. Jean Elliott. The maid of
honour was Sharon Carter of Clinton, sister of the bride.
Sister-in-law Ruth Hodges of Clinton. friend Nancy
McKenzie, Clinton and niece Julie Carter, Clinton acted as
bridesmaids. Annjannette Carter, niece of the bride was the
flower child. Friend of the groom. Keith Otterbein.
Milverton was best man. Wayne Hodges. Clinton: brother
of the bride, John Buruma. Clinton. friend of the groom.
ushered guests. Nephew of the bride Jason Carter, Clinton
was ring bearer. A reception and dance was held at Clinton
Legion Hall. Following a honeymoon to eastern Ontario the
bride and groom will reside in Clinton. Guests were present
from Kingston, Ottawa, Toronto. Manitoba, British
'Columbia, Sarnia and North Bay. Prior to her marriage the
bride was honoured at numerous showers given by friends.

Seniors enjoy waterfront tour
Residents of the Seaforth
Manor Nursing Home •and
Queensway Nursing Home.
Hensall enjoyed a bus trip on
Thursday to St. Joseph's.
Bayfield and a tour of Goder-
ich, stopping for lunch in the
pavilion by the water front.
Luckily a big boat was in•the
harbour for all to see, From
Goderich we followed along
to ' Benmiller one of the
prettiest spots, in Ontario,
then over to the little zoo at
Mr. Jervis', He happened to
be there and welcomed all of
us and also inquired for his
friend Arthur' Nicholson. He
also chatted with Frank Case
who was on the bus. As we
headed into Seaforth all pas-
sengers were in favour of
stopping at the Freeze King
where they all enjoyed an ice
cream cone. Our bus driver,
Cindy from Kitchener had not
been in this area before and
she enjoyed the scenery also
and was most courteous and
helpful in assisting the resi-
dents. Staff accompanying
Seaforth residents were Mary
Finlayson. Jackie Racho and
Dawn Riley.
On Saturday a number of
residents attended the Blyth
Festival performance of
Country Hearts which they
enjoyed most heartily. Jackie
Racho drove her van also

Rev. Archie Robertson of
Bethel Bible 'Church was in
charge ofservices on Wed-
nesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Readings were given by Mrs.
Freda Siemon. Mrs. La,vada
Norris and Mrs. Lola McGon;
igle. Lori Henderson also
accompanied her grand- e
mother and residents were
glad to see Lori again as she
was one of our Junior Volun-
teers who came each Tuesday
during May and June.
Friday afternoon 'residents
viewed two films "Summer
Pageantry" which was the.
changing of the guard at
Ottawa and it was most
colourful, also the story
"'The' Selfish Giant". Pre-
vious to that staff and some
residents viewed a film sup-
plied by the Ontario Nursing
Horne Association . "Hospi-
tals Don't Burn Down". This
• was an excellent film for all
staff to view in relation to tire
drills which arelteld regular-
ly.
Miss Ila Gardner was feted
to, a birthday" party last
,'Tuesday when some ladies
attended. Ila expressed her
appreciation to all who at-
tended and also for her lovely
gifts. Later in the day Mrs.
Mabel Crouch visited with
her.
Residents will miss' Miss
Mary Neville who has gone to
the Marsdale Manor Nursing
Home in Cambridge to re-
side. However we welcome
Mrs. Doris Smith from Cam-
bridge to Seaforth Manor.
Mary was d long time resi-
dent and made many friends
in the Seaforth area while
here. She won special awards
for her beautiful knitting at
Seaforth-Clinton and London
Fairs and her handiwork was
very much in demand. All
staff members wish her well
in her, new home.,
Miss Mae Smith visited
with Isobel Lamble last Tues-
day,

Mr. Charles Ross has re-
turned home from a pleasant
two week vacation with his
brother Harry Ross of
Guelph. •
Mr. Leonard Bloomfield
has returned from a few days
at University Hospital, Lon -
,don.
Congratulations are in
order to Miss Diane De
Weerd, a staff member who
was married on Saturday to
Donald Dimaline, Diane was
presented with two lawn
chairs from the staff and also
two mugs from the residents
of Seaforth Manor. All good
wishes go out to her on this
happy occasion.
An order for ceramics was
received by residents of Sea -
forth Manor to be sent to
Nova Scotia which they were
most happy to fill. Residents
have been doing a very good
job of painting ceramics with
assistance from Mrs. Doro-
thea Williamson and Mary
Finlayson. The start of this
project was all made possible
a few years ago by the New
Horizons program and resi-
dents are busy working now
for their annual fall bazaar
and tea to be held this year on
November 6, It is hoped a
good display of articles will be
,finished by then and local.

In 1983 Canadians will
see what Scouting means
when one boy's poster is used
by Canada Post Corporation
as the basis of a postage
stamp to commemorate the
75th Anniversary of Scouting,
Canada Post Corporation,
the Boy Scouts of Canada,.
and les Scouts du Canada,
have jointly announced that
they have organized a poster
contest for boys currently
enrolled in scouting. ,Mem-
bers are invited to contribute
their own drawings or paint-
ings expressing the theme
"What Scouting Means to
Me"
"The winning entry will be

used to produce the 75th
anniversary stamp," said
Andre Ouelet, Minister re-
sponsible for Canada Post.
Boys under the age of 18
can enter the contest which
closes on October 31, 1982,
Entries will be judged on a
regional basis and regional
winners will be submittgd for
selection of a national winner
by Canada Post's Stamp
Advisory Committee.
Certificates of merit will be
awarded to the winners from
each region in each of the
following Scouting categor-
ies; Beavers, Cubs, Scouts
and Venturers.

Joan Marie Huether, daughter of Mary and Murray
Huether of Brussels and' Gary Philip Ritchie, son of Mae
and Mervin Ritchie of Blyth were united in marriage on July
31 at Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels. Doctor
Gordon Hazlewood officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Maid of honour was Bonnie Richmond of Brussels.
Bridesmaids were Sandra Huether, Brussels, niece of the
bride, Karen Ritchie. Blyth, sister of the groom and Joyce
Tipple. Burlington. sister of the bride. The groomsman was ,
Don Carter, friend of the groom of Blyth. Ushers were
Kevin Carter, friend of the groom and Ken Ritchie, brother
of the groom', both of Blyth and David Huethcr of
Brampton, brother of the bride. Sheri Huether of Brussels
and Sarah -Tipple of Burlington. nieces of the bride were
charming flower girls and Jonathon 'tipple of Burlington,
nephew of the bride acted as ringbearcr. Michelle
McCutcheon of Brussels provided traditional organ music
for the soloist Don McDonald. Walton. uncle of the bride
and the duet of Peggy Gibson and Gail Semple of Brussels.

uncle of the bride of Stratford, Bruce McDonald, Belmore,
cousin of the bride and Mr. Brian Huether. Brussels,
brother of the bride. Murray Huether and Mervin Ritchic
spoke ,briefly. The happy couple are residing at 1032
Pharmacy Ave.. Scarborough. The bride is a 1982 graduate
of Accounting and Atusiness Administration of Fanshawe
College. London and is presently employed at Imperial Oil
in Toronto while the. groom is an employee of Robinson
Company of Toronto, working as a carpenter. Honoured
guests at the wedding were Mrs. Edna McDonald of
Brussels. grandmother of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Dawson of Wingham. grandparents of the groom.
