(Mitchell Advocate Photo) 1+ Crops - are gfea� Correspondent JOAN CRONIN 345-2772 The majority of the wheat and barley have been com- bined during this past week which lets the farmers breath a sigh of relief. Barns are being filled with straw for the bedding of cattle and pigs in the winter months. The bean crops are in blossom and look super this year. The corn is getting taller and taller each day which is a sign fall is just around the corner. With the thoughts of fall comes Hallowe'en, snow and Christmas. 1 wish someone would soon pinch me because 1 think 1 am having a bad nightmare with those kind of thoughts after the winter we had last year. If I had to choose a season that I loved the ni65t it Would be fall. No other season holds such beauty. The leaves turn a multitude of colours, the flowers are producing their most eloquent blooms, the gardens have yielded their Finest vegetables and most important of all - THE KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL. Mothers regain their sanity after driving all over the country to ball games and those necessary swimming lesson%. the neighbours fin- ally get a few hours a day of peace and quiet and the teachers turn grey and de, molish their finger nails. (which they spent the last two months growing,) in the first two weeks. Having a family is a won- derful experience as their ages vary from teenagers to .wee tots, but being the only adult in'a classroom of 30 to 35 students whether they be 5 year olds or 13 years old would he quite impossible for most in handle. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs, Larry Cook (Helen Bruxer) on the birth of a son on Monday, August 8 in the Stratford General Hospital. The people of the Dublin arca extend their sympathy to the members of the Van De Wettering family on the re- cent death of their mother Mrs. Petronella Van De Wet. tering. Mrs. Jean Dill spent Friday and Saturday of last week with Mrs. Ken Will in St. Marys. Upon her return home, Mrs. Jean Dill was joined by her brother Mr. Jack Frosrof St. Thomas who spent Sunday and Monday in Dublin. Mrs. Theresa Costello spent a few days last week with Mrs. Dorothy Krauskopf and daughter Carol in Port Elgin. They returned to Guelph where Mrs. Costello spent the weekend with Mrs. Krauskopf and Carol at their home, This is the final week for the Dublin playground activi- ties and the staff have plan- ned some very special events to end the season. The seniors will be spending Thursday at Wildwood near St. Marys where a day of outdoor activities is planned and the juniors will be having a campout on Thursday eve- ning at the park in Dubiin.
