8th, at eight p. m. A cordial invitation
is extended to all.
—Word was received on Wednesday
that Mrs. Angus Gilchrist, of Tiverton,
bad died suddenly of apoplexy. Mrs. 0.
Gilchrist left yesteday afternoon to be
present at the funeral.
—Charles McGill, late general man-
ager of the wrecked Ontario Bank was
sentenced to five years in Kingston peni.

Mr. C. J. Maguire left on Tuesday
morning for his home in Edmonton,
Alta.
Mr. R, S. Sturdy, of O wen Sound was
palling on old Wingham friends last
week.
Mrs. A. M. Bird and children were
visiting for a few days with friends at
Lakelet.
Miss Jean Stewart was visiting for a
few days with her sister, Mrs. Harris, at
Wroxeter.
Mr, Urias Sherk, and daughter, Lily,
are visiting relatives and friends at
Harrietsville.
Mae. Thos. J. Watt, of Mio, Mich., is
visiting with old friends in Wingham
and Blnevale,
Mr. John Martin returned to Cobalt on
Monday after a visit with his relatives
at Whitechurch.
Fay Patterson and John Hanna, of
Toronto are visiting at their parental
homes in town.
Mr. Peter McLaren was at Stratford
for a few days attending the funeral of
his cousin, the late Mr. McTavish,
Mr. Alex, Campbell and son, Howard,
were in Stratford for a few days, being
called to that city to attend the funeral
of an uncle, Mr. McTavish,
Mr. Hastings, Inspector of Public

Jno. and Mrs. M,;Cntoheon and Miss
Eveline, of Frobisher, are here on a
holiday visit for a few months. It is 7
years since Mr. McCutcheon went West,
his wife going two years later. They
like the country and have done well.

Cathedral on Tuesday, February 12.
