The news was received here that Alex. Leckie, son of Mrs. Leckie of town, had died at Port Arthur on the 23rd ult., from pneumonia. It is three years since Mr. Lockte had been in Blyth and he was well imown, and highly esteeemd by all who knew hira. Deceased was 29 years of age and leaves a mother, two sisters and two brothers to mourn his loss, The hody was brought here and interment made in Blyth cemetery last Priday. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson from Ham. iota, Man., have been visiting friends in and around the vIllage for the past few weeks. Communion services will bo held in Knox Church on Sunday next at 11 o'oleek, preparatory services on Friday at half past 2 p. m. Quarterly meeting was held in the Methodist chetah last Sunday morning but owing to the iuolemency of the weather only a few were present. The county engineer was asked to re- port 011 the bridge on the boundary line between West Wawanosh and Ashfield on the third eoncession, kno mu as Tay- lor's bridge; on the bridge on tae beau - darer between Hay and Stanley, known as Cochrane's bridge; ou the bridge on the London road south of Brucefleld known as the .MoMillan bridge, with the view of having the bridge rebuilt as county bridge; on the bridge on the Sanblo line, Stanley, near Geo. Dewar's; on the bridge on the boundary line be- tween Colborne and West Wawanosh, known as the McPhee bridge; on the bridge on the boundary line between Hallett and Goderich township, known as the Rspson bridge, with a view to having the same rebuilt as a connty bridge; on the London road bridge a mile south of Hensall; on the approach- es on each side of Blyth bridge at the railway crossing, and also on the pro. tection to the approaches; and on the bridge in Wingham on Josephine street over the north branch of the Maitland river; ascertain the amount of damage to T. temphill's mill at Wroxeter and the cause of such damage and report at the Juno meeting.
