However not to be 'outdone, Curinga scored a goal late in the first half to cut the margin to 2- l . The second half was played .fairly evenly with both teams getting good 'scoring chances. But with just threeminutes left to play Szabo received a perfect pass from Dave Mur- ray andfired a low shot past a stunned Curinga goaltender for the haarick and the Art victory. On In@ gm@no Hurticane Caddy made a brief -appearance in town last week when Cam, Kenny. and the only female caddy on the P.G.A. tour, stopped in on their way to the Greater Milwaukee Open. Cam.. who is presently caddying for Gary Koch, is just coming off a sixth place finish in the U.S. Open. Ken Jr.. who has been Mike Morley's caddy for the last few yeara, has decided to take a break until the Cana. dian Open which is only p few weeks ahead of us. Pam Shuttleworth 'visited Seafortb for a few days and managed to play some golf at our local course. -Pam, a 21 year old blonde Californian. has been a regular caddy on the tour for a couple of years and recently has been caddy- ing for Leonard Thompson. I managed to have a brief chat with Pam to find out what it was like to be the only female in this male dominated sphere of work. Pam played some golf when she was younger including some tournament play. Then while working as a security guard at a professional golf tourna• ment, she met some of thc pros and caddies and started to attend more of the P.G.A. events. Ken Doig Jr. talked her into trying the caddying life and helped get Pam her first job as a 'caddy for well kbown Canadian Professional Dan Ralldorson. The nea team of Pam and Dan placed well in their first tournament and then Pam caddied for 14alldorsen in the Walt Dis- ney Team Championships where they came in second. . Pam said after that she was hooked on the job and the life. Since then Pam has been a regular on the tour and has established herself as a girl worthy of her job. . Pam says the caddies and the pros have accepted her but she still gets some strange comments from fans and some tournament offi- cials. Since she doesn't have her own transportation and hitch hiking is not sensible she plans her rides and manages her time more care- fully than other caddies to ensure that she will get from one tournament to the next on time. It means sharing rides with other caddies and often taking a bus hundreds of miles to the next city on the tour. She enjoys the transient life and has no definite plans for the future except to continue caddying until she finds something she'd rather do. Well see her again in Canada during the week of the Canadian Open and of course wish her luck on thc tour.
