Farmers are working hard at the hay and scuffling their corn and beans to rid them of any unsightly "Weeds missed ' by the sptay. The wheat will soon be turning a golden rust colour and be harvested if we continue to get dry warm ' weather. This coming Saturday. July 10, the Du Ittn and District Lions CI re holding their Dublin est Day beginning with h Pancake Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ' which is sponsored by the Dublin Leo Club. At 10:00 a.m. there will be a bike parade for children ages 10 and under' and each entrant will win a prize, so he sure the - little ones decorate their bikes and paddle down main street. During the day there will be a ladies slow pitch tour- nament with teams from Milverton, Dublin, Sebring- ville and Brodhagen playing. From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. there will be a pork barbeque at the Community Centre so be sure and take .the whole family out to supper and mother will not have any dishes 46 do. The charge is adults $5.00 and children $3.I. To complete the eve - 1111 ,#1 ning there will be a dance in the coinniamity centre from 9:00 p.m. tp 1:00 a.m. with the music being supplied by Jasper. This is a very worth- while event and all proceeds are going to community pro- jects such as street signs which is a superb idea. The Dublin and District Athletic Association Iingo held every Friday evening at 8:00 in the Community Cen- tre is going well with their jackpot up to $400. on 54 calls this week. The seniors will attend every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will have such aeikivities as roller skating, swimming and a one day trip plus many other activities.. Th`e vehicle was operated by Ronald and Ellen Marquis from Abbotsford, B.C. They drove for 56 hours to get the fish to Ontario, and plan to travel all over the province to sell salmon, trout, cod, shrimp, and crab. When they run out of fish, they say they _return to B.C. and drive back with a full load. Saddle breds sold L¢11011gp Correspondent MRS. Burns UCW has dinner meeting The Burns U.C.W. met on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Gloria McEwing with 16 present. Grace was sung and .a .clftiner served by the losing side in the copper contest. Following the dinner Hazel Reid opened the meeting with a reading. Hazel Reid read the Scripture Romans Chap- ter 8. The topic "Let's face ourselves" was given by Hazel Reid. Joan Hoggadh, Jean Leiper. Beryl Reid and Joan Middegaal. Hazel led in prayer, and thanked all who took part in the meeting, Amelia Rice was in charge of the business. Roll call was answered with a Bible verse. The Treasurer> report was given by Margaret Taylor. A thank you card was received from Jim Neilans.
