High man was Bill Dowson and low man was Gerald Rathwell. Most lone hands was Barb Oesch and the draw winners were Gerald Rathwell and Ethel Walker. Next card party will be October 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the hall in Brucefield. Everyone welcome! The Stan Lee Seniors meet October 7 at 6 p.m. in the Varna Complex for a potluck supper. The U.C.W meet October 6 at the Brucefield Community United Church at 7:30 p.m. The Stephenson Steps are participating in the Run for the Cure again this year and it will take place October 4. If you would like to make a donation and help with breast cancer research then please see Leisa Stephenson, Deb Rathwell or Mona Stephenson. They would like to thankyou in advance. The Varna crokinole club meet at the Brucefield Com- munity United Church on October 13 at 7:30 p.m. for this first night of play. Any inter- ested crokinole players that would like to join the club please call Joan at 519-233-7443 as soon as possible. The annual doubles crokinole tournament held at the Brucefield Community United Church is October 31. Anyone interested in this should call Joan also. Flo Cartwright was the guest speaker at the Brucefield Com- munity United Church speaking on peaceful storms. Greeter was Sharon Chuter and reader was Dorothy McGregor. Next Sunday October 4 is anni- versary Sunday with guest Min- ister MaryBeth Wilson and special music. Bruce Whitmore will be the worship leader for October 11 and 18.
