ton Lawn Bowling Club.

BRIEFS
Driver transported
to London hospital
following crash
Bluewater - On August
26 shortly after 5 p.m.,
OPP officers were dis-
patched to the intersec-
tion of Bronson Line and
the Zurich Hensall Road,
west of Zurich, for a seri-
ous two vehicle injury
collision.
Investigation revealed
that a Pontiac Montana
minivan had been travel-
ling north bound on
Bronson line when it
entered the intersection
and crossed directly in
front of a Chevrolet Sil-
verado that was travelling
west bound on Zurich
Hensall Road. The vehi-
cles collided within the
intersection and came to
rest in the ditch area to
the north west of the
intersection.
The 83 -year-old female
driver of the Pontiac Mon-
tana, a Huron East resident
sustained major injuries.
She was transported to a
local hospital and was later
airlifted to a London hos-
pital. The 51 -year-old male
driver of the Silverado
pickup truck, a resident of
the Bluewater was trans-
ported to a local hospital
with minor injuries.
OPP investigate
fatal motorcycle
crash
Bluewater - On August 23
shortly after 4:30 p.m., OPP
officers were dispatched to the
intersection of Mill Road
(County Rd. 3) and Goshen
Line, where a citizen had dis-
covered a motorcycle and its
rider in a com field.
Huron EMS personnel and
OPP officers, upon arrival at
the scene determined that the
motorcyclist had been in the
cornfield for an extended
period of time. The motorcy-
clist was pronounced deceased
at the scene.
Preliminary investigation
has determined that the
motorcycle had been travelling
north bound on Goshen Line
approaching the intersection of
Mill Road.The motorcycle pro-
ceeded northbound from Gos-
hen Line, crossing Mill Road,
and colliding with the "T -inter-
section" sign. The motorcycle
and its rider came to rest in a
cornfield north of the
intersection.
The male operator of the
Yamaha motorcycle, 21 -year-
old Zackary James Maclean
from Goderich, was identi-
fied as the deceased
motorcyclist.
The West Region OPP
Technical Traffic Investiga-
tion Unit attended the scene
and is continuing their
investigation.
