On Oct. 24 the Radars suf-
fered its first loss of the sea-
son, 4-3 in overtime to the
Tavistock Royals.
The game was a hard -
checking affair with a lot of
clean and dirty checks
handed out. The Radars
were missing a few key play-
ers in this contest. Missing
were high -scoring forwards
Tyler Doig and Vick, as well
as smooth -skating defense -
man Jarmuth.
The win by the Braves
snapped a Radar four game
winning streak.
In the first period Clinton
came out of the gate flying
as they grabbed a 3-0 lead.
At 9:00 a power play goal
by Bartliff gave Clinton the
lead. Ryan Murphy and
Consitt supplied the
helpers.
Three minutes later, at
12:05, Consitt was at the
right place at the right time
as he had just jumped out of
the penalty box after receiv-
ing a slashing penalty. He
took a clearing out pass
from Nother at centre ice
behind Royal defenders to
score a break away goal. He
put a super deke on the
Tavistock goalie and then
deposited the puck into a
wide-open net. With the
clock ticking down in the
first period Oliver gave the
Radars a 3-0 lead as he back
handed a shot into the top
left hand corner at 19:46.
Andrew Van Vliet and
Whitehead assisted the goal.
In the second stanza it
was all Tavistock as they
scored three consecutive
goals off the sticks of Mike

and Geoff Killing.
Clinton coach Jim Fritzley
said afterwards it was the
team's worst effort of the
season.
In the third stanza the
Radars did tighten up its
defensive coverage but both
teams played to a standstill
in the frame and the period
ended 3-3.
With a little over two min-
utes gone in overtime Tavis-
tock's Killing scored on a
two -on -one rush. He beat
Nother, who certainly
deserved a better fate as he
had 46 saves for the game.
Clinton fired 37 shots at the
Tavistock net.
Clinton's next home game
is this Friday night as Till-
sonburg comes to town for
an 8:30 p.m. start.
