Drama teacher, Crystal Bren- nan, said the students wanted to focus on the role that women played in the world wars. The drama classes worked for over a month to create a piece that incorporated the stories of veter- ans who fought in WWI and WWII as well as the soldiers who continue to work towards peace today. The interpretive theatre piece was to enable students to engage and connect with the stories of people who fight for freedom, Brennan said. We have a responsibility to show the students what it means to remember those who sacrifice and that, as Canadians, we didn't do anything to deserve a peaceful life other than be born in a free country, Principal Jodi Kuran said.
