Mr. James Wilson, an old and respect. ed resident of Seaforth, passed away very suddenly and easily on Tuesday forenoon, Jany 8th. Mr. Wilson was in hie usual health on Tuesday morning and after breakfast he commenced writ- ing a letter but finding it rather dark he went to the stable to attend to the horse. His daughter thinking he was absent a long time went to the stable to see what was keeping him. As she opened the door she,found him kitting on a box on the floor with his head hanging forward and quite dead. Mr. Wilson had been a resident of Seaforth for 30 years. The annual meeting of. the Tucker. smith Branch Agricultural Society was held in the Commercial hotel, Seaforth, Wednesday, Jany 9th, The past year has been a most succesafnl one financial- ly. After paying $000 in prizes and a number of old score* as well as the past year's indebtedness, the society practi- oally ended the year with a clean sheet. In accordance with the new agricultural set the name of the society was changed to the Seaforth Agricultural Society, and the Ttckersmith Branch, whioh has been in existence for nearly 50 years past, is now no more. The dates of the fair for 1907 were fixed for Thursday and Friday, September 19th and 20th. Bears the , Do Kind You Have Always Boa Signahira le�. of • The death of Mrs. Trothen, whioh took Place on Thursday, Jan. 3rd, at the home of her nephew, Dr. Duncan Stevenson, Mill street, Clinton, removes one of the' oldest residents of town town, she having reached the ripe old age of nearly ninety years. The deoeased Iady, whose maiden name was Macpherson, was born in Kintyre, Scotland, on April 16, 1817, and came to Canada with her first hus- band, Mr, Wm. Brown, in the year 1844. They purohased a farm in tho township of East Williams from the late Rev. Dun- can McMillan, who afterwards removed to Caledon townehip,and died some years ago at Komoka in his ninetieth year. After the death of Mr. Brown she sold the farm and removed to London, where she was married to Mr. Wm. Trothen. They afterwards lived in Westminster, Oaradoo and Strathroy. In the latter place Mr. Trothen died and Mrs. Trothen removed to Orangeville, where she lived for about twelve years. She came to Clinton about two years ago and lived with her nephew.
