The game was a lot closer than the score indicated. The teams were tired 1-1 after the first period. After two the Radars led 4-1 and in the third period the Radars added three more markers to make the final score 7-2. Clinton outshot the Drives 53 to 24 with each goalie making many fine saves. Marc Nother in the net for the Radars picked up his seventh win of the season against one over- time loss to Tavistock. In the first period the teams traded goals with Reid Oliver scoring for Clinton and Brent Freeman for the Drives. In the second period goals by Ryan Murphy, Curtis Bartliff and Sean Consitt gave the Radars a 4-1 lead. Murphy's goal Joey's Corner Joe Livermore came at 11:02, Bartliff's at 14:41 and Consitt's at 19:00. In the third period the Radars outscored the Drives three to one. Dent- ing the twine were Tyler Doig with two and Murphy with one. Smooth skating and fine puck handling helped Luke Vick pick up three helpers, Doig two, Bartliff two, Oli- ver two and one assist each to Murphy and Consitt. Everyone who follows the Radars should take note on a very special date coming up. The Radars will be holding a pajama nigh on Nov. 20 when it hosts Tavistock. After the first Radar goal in the contest each spectator who brings a pair of PJs will get a chance to toss them onto the ice. Hope to see you at the game on this special night. Radars edge out Petrolia On Saturday night, Nov 7, the Clinton Radars edged out the Petrolia Squires in a tight checking, well -played game. The fans were treated to a goalie battle between Petro- lia net minder and the Radars' steady net minder. Nother played another superb game in goal posting a 3-1 win. Clinton outshot Petrolia 37-22. Petrolia took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Zac McNaught at 5:36. There was no further scoring in the period as both goalies made spectacular saves. Once again, the goal- ies made several key saves. In the third frame the play went back and forth with some bruising body checks handed out by both teams. Then at 9:41 the Radars' Ste- fan Solituro gave Clinton a 2-1 lead with assists going to Vick and Mitch Vandergunst. Two minutes later at 11:40 Vick gave Clinton a 3-1 lead when he cut into the net from the right corner to jam in the puck between the post and goalie's pad. The Radars would like to thank the Clinton Pipe Band for their participation in last Friday's game against Mil- verton. Their Remembrance Day playing of the Last Post was truly nice to see. The Radars next home game is on Nov 20 at 8:30 p.m. At the time of the team's first goal, any specta- tors bringing a pair (any size) of pajamas to the game may toss them onto the ice. Marc Nother shines in goal Radar goalie Marc Nother did something that only happens once in a lifetime. It's like turning a hat trick but in this case it was three assists by a goalie in one game. Nother turned the trick against cross-town rivals, the Seaforth Centenaires. On Nov. 1 the Radars trav- elled to Seaforth and slammed the door on its archrivals by trouncing them 11-1. Once again, the Radars showed great explosiveness as their speed and finesse in passing and shooting showed up on the scores heet. The Radars led 4-0 after one period and 6-0 after two periods. In the opening session two goals were scored by newcomer Reid Oliver and one each by Curtis Bartliff and Stefan Solituro. Ryan Murphy and Bartliff's sec- ond goal gave Clinton the lead after two periods. In the third period Sea- forth's Kyle Walker spoiled Nother's shutout bid. Scor- ing goals for the Radars in the third were Bartliff with two more and single tallies off the sticks of Deryk Whitehead, Tyler Doig and Solituro. Leading point getters in this game were as follows: Bartliff had seven points on four goals and three assists. Solituro had two goals and four assists. Doig had one goal and four assists. Reid Oliver with two goals and one assist. Nother had three assists and one goal each off the sticks of Whitehead and Murphy. Once assist each went to defencement Kyle Provily, Tyler Gosset, Tyler Bryson and Mitch Vandergunst.
