In Memoriams
In Memoriams
In memory of our dear
Jill Merner
Your wings were ready,
but our hearts were not.
Miss you every day!
- Val, John and Rebecca Valle
MERNER
In loving memory of Jill Merner who left our
lives November 3, 2011.
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that
she'll come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all
she's left
Your heart can be empty because you can't
see her
or you can be happy for tomorrow because
of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she's
gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it
live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty
and turn your back
or you can do what she'd want:
smile,
open you eyes,
love
and go on.
We will treasure the flowers in the garden,
the warmth of the sun and the sand be-
tween our toes. Missing you every hour of
every day.
Forever in our hearts, Jody, Bill, Brooke
and Sierra

ALMEY, John (Jack) Albert - Jack
Almey of Vanastra passed away peacefully
in his 92nd year on Friday, October 23,
2015, at Huronview Home, Clinton, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of
66 years, Ellie, by 3 months. Jack will be
greatly missed by his children; Winifred
(Dennis) Hutton, Cyril (Janet Killey), Mary
(Bob Osser), Tom (Debbie), Arthur, and lan
(Diane Maize). He was a loving grandfather
to Nathan (Kerri-Ann) Hutton, Christopher
(Cat Williams) Hutton, Anne (David
Bourque) Almey, Jane (Chris Wai) Almey,
Jia Osser, Harrison (Laura Christensen)
Almey, and Sarah Windsor; and his great
grandchildren Michael and Cash Hutton.
Jack was born in Sarnia Township on
December 8, 1923, the only child of Cyril
Marchant (1944) and Mary Elfreda (1997)
Almey. Father, grandfather and great-
grandfather, instrumentation engineer, and
slightly mad scientist; Jack had a great love
of family, learning, science, and music. He
instilled in his family the same love of
learning and music, intense curiosity, sense
of family, and open-mindedness. Jack
worked for almost 40 years for Dow
Chemical in Sarnia, and then at Dow's plant
in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. He was a
life time supporter of the United Church of
Canada, and faithfully supported the work
of Mandaumin United Church in Plympton-
Wyoming, and then First United Church in
Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Jack was also
a school trustee in the Bunyan community
for several years. Following cremation, a
visitation and service was held at the
FALCONER FUNERAL HOMES,
CLINTON CHAPEL, 153 High St. Clinton
on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Visitation
was at noon, followed by a funeral service
at 1:00 pm. There was a reception that
followed the service at Clinton United
Church, 105 Ontario Street, Clinton. In the
spring, a memorial service will be held at
Mandaumin United Church, and interment
of his ashes will follow at the Wyoming
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask that
you donate to Canada Foodgrains Bank or
to a charity of your choice. Condolences for
the Almey family may be placed at
