Raceway helps raise $30,000 for Clinton hospital
Legends Day 2015, a com-
munity event, held at a local
harness track helped the
Clinton Public Hospital
Foundation raise $30,000.
This biennial event is one
of many on Clinton Race-
way's live schedule that
assists local groups, clubs
and organizations in reach-
ing fundraising goals and
provides an opportunity to
bring new customers to the
track for a fun day out. "It's
great to be able to give back
to the communities that
have supported harness rac-
ing for many, many years, "
Jessica Carnochan, market-
ing manager for the track,
said. "Clinton Raceway
draws fans from far and
wide, Huron County and
beyond, we want to give
these fans a chance to utilize
our facility and be able to
aide in their goals':
The $30,000 raised at this
year's Legends event, which
sees hall of fame harness
drivers coming to Clinton to
race in the Legends Trot and
donate their fee's, pushed
the total years fundraising to
just over $60,000.
"These events wouldn't be
possible without the loyal
fans who attend the races"
Carnochan said.
This past season was such
a success, Clinton Raceway
has now implemented an
applications process for
groups that are interested.
"We want it to be as fair as
possible, giving new groups
a chance to join us," Carno-
chan said.
"The form isn't compli-
cated, and the process is
easy, forms can be found on
our website at www.clinton-
raceway.com and the appli-
cation deadline is January
31, 2016 for the 2016 live har-
ness meet, beginning in
May.
The track encourages
groups of all kinds that rely
on fundraising to operate to
apply. The on track wager for
Legends Day was $60,000,
the highest number seen
since 1996, monies raised
during the event will be used
by the Clinton Public Hospi-
tal Foundation for the new
nurse call system with wire-
less phone integration.
