Numerous charges in connection to Februarycollision

Clinton should be proud of its
girls and boys rugby teams. In
two tough games this week St.
Anne's showed that they are the
teams to beat.
On Monday May 4, in their
second game of the season, St.
Anne's girls went up against
South Huron, coming away
with a 40-17 win.
The girls played Stratford
Northwestern on May 1 win-
ning with an end score of
33-12. Their next game is
against F.E Madill on May 15.
The senior boys also domi-
nated in their game against
South Huron on May 8, winning
by 36 points with a score of 41-7.
A police investigation into
a serious motor vehicle colli-
sion that occurred on Febru-
ary 21, 2015 has resulted in
the driver and adult passen-
ger of a Pontiac Montana
minivan being charged with
Highway Traffic Act offences.
At approximately 10:15
p.m., Huron County OPP
officers, along with Huron
County EMS personnel and
Clinton Fire Department
arrived at the scene of the
crash located at the intersec-
tion of Huron Road (Hwy. 8)
and Parr Line in Holmesville.
OPP West Region Techni-
cal Traffic Collision Investiga-
tors (TTCI) and Huron OPP
members have since deter-
mined the driver of the Pon-
tiac Minivan was travelling
westbound on Huron Road
when the driver made a left
turn in front of an eastbound
GMC pickup truck. The
driver of the pickup truck was
unable to avoid the minivan
and collided with the passen-

Officers on scene found an
eight-year-old female pas-
senger that was completely
ejected from the mini -van
and a five-year-old female
passenger that was partially
ejected from the mini -van.
Investigators have since
determined the female driver
and her adult male passenger
were not wearing seat belts.
In addition, both the eight-
year-old girl and five-year-old
girl were unrestrained in the

vehicle. Police also deter-
mined a three-year-old boy
was not secured in a forward
facing child restraint seat as
required by a regulation of
the Highway Traffic Act.
The 8 -year-old girl from
minivan remains in hospital
with serious injuries. All other
injured occupants have since
been released from hospital.
The 28 -year-old female
driver from Central Huron been
charged with the following
Highway Traffic Act offences:
• Turn not in safety
• Failure to wear proper
seat belt
• Failure to ensure toddler
properly secured
• Failure to ensure child
properly secured
• Failure to ensure passen-
ger under 16 years of age
properly secured by seatbelt
The adult passenger in the
Montana minivan, a 29 -year-
old male from Huron East
has been charged with fail-
ure to wear a seatbelt.

FA9ADE GRANT PROGRAM
The Municipality of Central Huron is pleased to announce their annual Central
Huron Facade Grant Program. The Program includes facade improvements
for properties in Central Huron that are assessed as Commercial for taxation
purposes. The Municipality has set aside funds to assist property owners in
the expansion or improvement of the building facade or signage.
The proposed facade improvement must meet the specific property criteria
outlined in the "Facade Improvement Concept" and enhance the "cosmetic"
appeal of the structure from a streetscape viewpoint.
Deadline
Applications may be obtained from the municipal office or on the municipal
website. Completed Applications must be received by the undersigned by
12:00 noon Friday, May 29, 2015. Questions or comments may be directed to
