OPP NEWS BRIEFS
SOUTH HURON — Huron County Ontario Provin-
cial Police (OPP) officers are currently inves-
tigating a break, enter and theft that occurred
at a semi-detached residence currently under
construction located on Redford Drive in Exe-
ter. The construction manager attended the job
site on March 9, 2015 to discover someone had
attended the property and had entered three
homes under construction over the weekend.
Upon inspecting the homes it was noticed
nearly all of the electrical wire was stripped
out of one of the homes. The electrical
wire is described as white, 14/2 gauge.
The replacement costs to the com-
pany is estimated be nearly $4,000.

mous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1 -800-
222 -TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible
to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH — A 28 year
old driver now has a scheduled court date
after he was caught racing on March 12. Just
before 7:30 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Ford
cube van travelling westbound on Amber -
ley Road near Eighteen Mile Line at a high
rate of speed. The officer confirmed his vis-
ual observations with a RADAR device. The
vehicle's speed was locked at a speed of
135 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was completed and the driver
was charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle.
A male, 28 years of age from Glencoe, will
have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court
— Goderich on April 21, 2015 to answer to the
charge. His motor vehicle was impounded
for a seven day period and his driver's
licence was suspended for seven days.
SOUTH HURON — On March 11, 2015 the
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized
Crime Enforcement Bureau — Drug Enforce-
ment Unit, Huron OPP Crime Unit, West Region
Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region
Canine and Huron OPP executed two Con-
trolled Drugs and Substances Act search war-
rants at residences on Gidley Street and Car-
ling Street in the Town of Exeter, Municipal-
ity of South Huron, Huron County, Ontario.
As a result of the execution of the search
warrant on Gidley Street, police seized can-
nabis marihuana, cannabis resin, oxyco-
done pills, and hydromorphone pills. The
combined estimated street value of the
seized controlled substances is $400.
A 45 year old male of Lucan was arrested and
charged with possession of oxycodone. He
has been released from custody with a court
appearance scheduled for April 23, 2015
at the Ontario Court of Justice — Exeter.
As a result of the execution of the search war-
rant on Carling Street, police seized meth-
amphetamine, hydrocodone, cannabis mari-
huana and cannabis resin. The combined
estimated street value of the seized con-
trolled substances is $400. Police also
seized two prohibited conducted energy
weapons and a stolen cordless drill.
A 34 year old male and 21 year old female
were both arrested and charged with posses-
sion of methamphetamine, possession of can-
nabis marihuana, possession of cannabis resin,
possession of hydrocodone, production of can-
nabis resin, possession of property obtained by
crime and two counts of possession of a pro-
hibited weapon. They both remain in custody
with bail hearings scheduled for March 12, 2015
at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.

MORRIS-TURNBERRY — Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with
Huron County EMS responded to a snowmo-
bile crash on March 8 that has led to seri-
ous injuries to the young male driver.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m. emergency personnel
responded to the collision scene located at a
farm property on Clegg Line near Jamestown
Road. The initial collision investigation has
revealed the injured male was driving solo on an
Arctic Cat 700 snowmobile when he attempted
to ramp over a large hill in the field. As he got
to the top of the hill he lost control of his sled.
He was thrown from the sled and he became
entangled in the machine as it toppled over him.
The 20 year old male driver from Morris -Turn -
berry was initially transported by land ambulance
to hospital in Wingham. He was later trans-
ferred to hospital in London by air ambulance.
He remains in hospital with serious injuries.
SOUTH HURON — A 28 year old from South
Huron has been charged with Break & Enter
and Mischief after Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officers responded to
an alarm call at the Exeter Co -Op Ferti-
lizer Plant located on Kirkton Road.
On March 8 around 7:20 a.m. Huron OPP offic-
ers responded to the business after a bur-
glar alarm was tripped. Officers arrived
on scene and discovered a male stand-
ing inside the office building. Officers
also located damage to an office door.
Officers spoke with the male and determined
he did not belong in the building. He was
promptly arrested and taken into custody.
A male, 28, from South Huron has been charged
with Break, Enter with Intent to Commit Indict-
able Offence and Mischief Under $5,000. He
has a court date scheduled for the Ontario
Court of Justice — Exeter on April 23, 2015.
