PUBLIC SCHOOL
Here we are already in the
month of March, the wearing
of the green month. In cele-
bration of St. Patrick, patron
saint of Ireland, everyone at
Hullett Central School is
encouraged to come to school
dressed in green clothing on
March 13th, the last day of
classes before March Break.
The SAC group is giving
advance notice of the annual
"fun fair" to be held at the
Blyth Community Centre on
May lst. More details will
develop as the weeks go by.
The senior volleyball teams
competed in the regional
tournament at CHSS in Clin-
ton recently and deserve con-
gratulations. The boys team
finished the day in first place
and the girls brought home
second place honours.
On March llth Kindergar-
ten pupils and their families
will have a fun afternoon
snowshoeing and celebrating
the learning ongoing in
Kindergarten.
Monday, February 23rd
Hullett held their in -school
'speeches and story -telling'
competition as the first stage
in the annual Royal Canadian
Legion contest. Judged the
most proficient in the pri-
mary division were Shea Cox,
Myrah Caldwell and Connor
Dale. The junior finishers
were Colby Dale, Ella Saw -
chuck and Nadia Bingham.
Chosen as winners in the
intermediate division were
Jaden Shortreed, Leah Cald-
well and Claire Scrimgeour.
OPP NEWS BRIEFS
Congratulations to all who
summoned up the courage to
present their story or speech
to the whole school. You are
all winners for that. The
speeches chosen as best in
division will compete at the
Goderich Legion on Saturday,
March 7th. May the luck of
the Irish be with the Hullett
speakers!

UNITED CHURCH
The ladies who did venture
out to the UCW meeting in
spite of the cold and unpleas-
ant weather on Monday, Feb-
ruary 16th, Family Day,
learned that February in Her-
itage month. They were
treated to an interesting and
informative trip down mem-
ory lane by Crystal Whyte,
Helen Lobb and Dorothy
Bogie.
One often hears the expres-
sion at Christmas that Joseph,
therefore Jesus, were of the
house and lineage of David.
Dorothy clarified the geneal-
ogy of Abraham through to
King David. The ladies pre-
sent had an opportunity to
share some of their own
heritage.
Canadian heritage
moments were enjoyed
through a video presentation
by Crystal - 50 years of the
Canadian flag, Sir John A. and
Confederation, Vimy Ridge,
the Stratford Festival, and
inspirational Canadian
women - Laura Secord, Nellie
McClung, Emily Carr and
Mona Parsons. The program
included a video about Expo
67 - A Place to Stand, an
event familiar to the ladies
present.
FATAL COLLISION
SOUTH OF EXETER
Just after 6:00 a.m. on March 4 officers from the
Huron County OPP Detachment along with per-
sonnel from South Huron Fire Department and
Huron County EMS responded to a three vehi-
cle collision located on London Road (Highway
4) between Kirkton Road and Crediton Road.
The preliminary investigation has revealed
a northbound Jeep Wrangler crossed the
center line and sideswiped a southbound Toy-
ota Solara. The Jeep then collided head-
on with a southbound Chrysler Intrepid.
Helen Lobb spoke about
`downtown and community'
which everywhere include
historic buildings, landmarks,
churches, shops and restau-
rants familiar to everyone.
Londesborough's past was
revisited from its time of lay-
ing -out in 1850 by Hagyard.
Fast on the heels of a suc-
cessful `apron sewing' day,
ladies were invited to come
out on March 4th to make
baby blankets. There is no
sewing involved. Bring along
scissors, cutting boards and
wheels and a lunch. These
blankets are distributed
throughout the community.
Snow date is the 11th.
The March meeting for the
group is Monday, the 16th.
The meeting will take the
form of the World Day of
Prayer Service for 2015. The
service itself will begin at 7:30
p.m. Lunch will be served at
the end of the evening and
will feature foods from the
Bahamas. The ladies of the
Bahamas wrote this year's
service.
Other items of business
included having the pianos
tuned and checked, purchas-
ing new mattresses for the
cabin at Camp Menesetung,
purchasing a lily for the
narthex for Easterand main-
taining the M & S allocation
at $2100.00.
The Outreach Committee of
Londesborough United have
learned that shelves at area
food banks get empty by this
time of the winter. Conse-
quently they have out dona-
tion boxes throughout the
church for the Sundays 8th,
15th and 22nd. They encour-
age you to be generous.
The lone occupant of the Chrysler Intrepid
was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as 46
year old Mary -Jane FORRESTER from
South Huron. A post-mortem examina-
tion was scheduled for March 5 in London.
The driver and sole occupant of the Jeep
Wrangler, a 19 year old male from Mid-
dlesex Centre was transported to hospi-
tal with non -life threatening injuries.
The two occupants in the Toyota Solara
were transported to hospital for observa-
tion. They have since been released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
