Michael Falconer wel- comed us and introduced Sharon Nivins, our District 8 Director. Sharon proceeded to present to our Society "Con- gratulations from the Ontario Horticultural Association. A special Certificate men- tioning our 125th Anniversary and a letter to accompany it was sent by the OHA presi- dent Jeff Blackadar. Clinton president, Michael Falconer accepted them with thanks. Our potluck picnic began with a prayer, the food was plentiful and the fellowship friendly. Our stay at the Slo- man Park was too short to appreciate the well kept grounds. At 7 p.m. at the Clinton Cemetery, Michael gathered us together and Jeannette Martin related a couple of interesting facts about our Society. Since 1948 there have been 26 presidents in our Society and today there are still 10 living. 1971-72 Flor- ence Pullen; 1976-78 Ina Mae Durst; 1981-83 Margaret Slo- man; 1985, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015 Michael Falconer; 1996-97 Lois Elliott; 2000, 2001, 2010 Karen Tait; 2002-03 Connie Haggart; 2004-05, 2011 Audrey Lyndon; 2006-07 Jeannette Martin; 2012-13 Mava Holland. Michael Falconer intro- duced Rev. Farmer Snowden who conducted the dedica- tion of the granite bench. Rev. Farmer Snowden read two garden scriptures from Gene- sis and John and reflected on them. Then we all gathered around the bench while the prayer of dedication was offered. May the bench be a place to rest and ponder when you are at the cemetery. Assisting with the planting were members Elea- nor Falconer and Florence Laura Broadley Clinton News Record The Bayfield Agricultural Society held its first American Miniature Horse Registry sanctioned show last Saturday at the REACH centre in Clinton. There were 94 horses entered in 151 classes including three Conquering Obstacles and Overcoming Limitations (COOL) sections for adults and children with disabilities. The horses are judged in five areas; halter class, showmanship, driving, obstacles and jumping. Past presidents of the society, Michael Falconer, Karen Tait, Jeannette Martin, Florence Pullen and Mava Holland. Pullen. The tree is planted very close to the granite bench. Both are not far from the new Columbarium.
