Josie and Aitken win gold at OFSAA

Four local athletes competed
at the Ontario Federation of
School Athletic Association
(OFSAA) championships last
weekend at Varsity Stadium in
Toronto.
Central Huron student,
Mackenzie Josie won silver
last Thursday in the senior
boys shot put and came back
on Friday with a first place
win in discus.
Despite a downpour and stiff
competition, St. Anne's student
and Texas Christian University -
bound Lexi Aitken, came away
with gold in the senior girls 100 -
metre hurdles with a time of
13.56 seconds on Friday.
Devon Newell, a grade 12
student at CHSS showed
impressive determination,
placing fourth in the 100 -
metre ambulatory boys and
fifth in the 800 -metre ambu-
latory boys events.
Ella Baker-Lehnen also
represented St. Anne's in
Toronto with a strong show
of athleticism. Baker-Lehnen
placed fifth in the ambula-
tory girls 100 -metre and
third in the 800 -metre event.
Over 20 local athletes
made it to OFSAA West to
represent St. Anne's and
CHSS during the May 29 to
30 competition in London.
