"Our Government is
proud to invest in projects
that support the long term

conserve Great Lakes water
quality and ecosystem
health for the benefit of all
Canadians," said Huron
Bruce MP Ben Lobb.
"Lake Huron is vital to the
health of the people of
Ontario. It is tied to our eco-
nomic health as well. On
behalf of the Board of Direc-
tors of the Ausable Bayfield
Conservation Authority, I
would like to thank the Gov-
ernment of Canada for this
support. This grant helps
landowners and community
groups on the Canadian side
of the Lake Huron Basin. It
allows all levels of govern-
ment, public health, and
conservation agencies, to
work effectively and effi-
ciently to protect and
improve the region's water
quality," said Ute Stumpf,
vice -chair of the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation

Footloose director Timothy French brings dance, music and great story to life at main stage

One of the most explo-
sive movie musicals in
recent memory bursts onto
the Grand Bend stage with
exhilarating results.
It's more than just great
dancing with a great score;
Footloose is a great story
that takes the audience to a
small town that has
been locked up emotionally
for five years. It is a story
that director -choreogra-
pher Timothy French loves
to bring to the stage.
This seasoned director is
no stranger to Huron Coun-
try Playhouse and loves
this theatre for so many rea-
sons. "The staff and crew are
amazing and the facility with
its large stage is rare," he
Drayton Entertainmen
said, explaining the space is
perfect for many of the big
productions Drayton brings
to their audience.
For Drayton Entertainment
French did Footloose in 2014
and is credited for The Sound
Of Music, Camelot, Me And
My Girl, Damn Yankees, The
Boy Friend, and Carousel.
He was director and cho-
reographer for Dream -
girls (The Grand Theatre/
Theatre Aquarius/
MTC), Evita (MTC/Theatre
Calgary/Citadel Thea-
tre), Altar Boyz, [Title of
Show] (Angelwalk Theatre),
choreography
for Camelot, Guys and
Dolls (MTC/Theatre Cal-
gary/Citadel Theatre), The
Mystery of Edwin
Drood (Shaw Festival), Caro-
line, or Change (Acting Up
Stage), Cabaret, A Little
Night Music, Hair (The

numerous hit Rock & Roll
revues for Stage West. He has
been resident director for
Toronto Mirvish productions
of Dirty Dancing and The
Producers. He is always very
happy to be working for
Drayton Entertainment,
which gives him the added
bonus of living at home in
Stratford and enjoying the
drives through the beautiful
local countryside.
Footloose is the story of a
young rebel who moves to a
small middle -American
town where dance is forbid-
den, and encourages all
young people to defy the
strict edict of the local pastor
and call for a rock 'n' roll
party. In so doing, he brings
healing to the heart of a town
held back by the memory of
tragedy.
Anchored by memorable
'80's anthems Holding Out
For A Hero, Almost Paradise,
Let's Hear It For The Boy, and
the self -titled track, Foot-
loose celebrates the wisdom
of listening to young people,
guiding them with warm
hearts and open minds.
French says theatregoers
will be thrilled to see Dan-
ielle Wade (Anne of Green
Gables) teamed with Colin
Sheen as the misjudged
rebel with a cause Ren
McCormack. Sheen
delighted audiences in
Grand Bend earlier this sea-
son with his portrayal of
Gilbert Blythe in Anne of
Green Gables.
"We were fortunate to get
Danielle for this part and a
challenge to find the
incredible talent we needed
for the part of Wren. We
searched all of Canada
to find someone with the
voice; the dance moves, the
dramatic range and Colin
Sheen had all these quali-
ties. The crowd is going to
love him."
Being the director and
choreographer is a plus as
French move from scene
to scene creating a seamless
vision for the audience. The
message comes through
with the story and the dance.
It flows, he said.
