Test drive your creative side Huron County residents can "test drive their creative side" through a new series of introductory art classes. The art class series offers participants over 20 different classes to choose from, cov- ering a wide range of artistic disciplines including: paint- ing, theatre, dance, music, clay, mosaic, felting, lantern making, encaustic and printmaking. All of the classes were designed with the beginner in mind and have a registra- tion fee of just $20 each (includes all materials), with the hopes of making it easier for everyone to have a chance to participate and try something new. "We recognized that cost and time required can be barriers to taking art classes, so all of the classes in the series have the same low registration fee and none of them are more than an eight hour time commitment," said Rick Sickinger, cultural development officer with the County of Huron. "This series of classes is really about encouraging everyone, regardless of pre- vious experience, to have some fun and explore differ- ent artistic fields and media without having to worry about cost, time or skill level." The "Test Drive Your Crea- tive Side" series is produced by Huron Arts & Heritage Network and the County of Huron Cultural Services Department along with part- nering arts organizations: Art aRound Town, Blyth East Side Dance, Blyth Festival, Elizabeth's Art Gallery, Goderich Celtic Roots Festi- val, Goderich Little Theatre, Imagine Huron and Worth Their Salt. Special thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for providing funding sup- port for the project.
