at third mayor's mingle

Central Huron residents
had the opportunity to
approach council on July 7.
The third annual mayor's
mingle took place at the
Central Huron Community
Complex in an effort to make
council available for the
community.
Mayor Jim Ginn took the
opportunity to thank volun-
teers because of the valuable
work they do. Council can't
supply everything the com-
munity desires and so volun-
teers often take on much of
that extra work, he said.
Ginn said the idea to hold
a mayor's mingle stemmed
from a notable communica-
tion problem within Central
Huron.
A council meeting is a
more formal setting and
people often feel intimidated
to speak up, said Ginn.
The mayor stressed the
idea that council members
were elected as peers and
they are all accessible
should anyone have some-
thing they want to talk
about.
Police respond to residential alarm

Clinton remains in custody
after he was arrested earlier this
week for drug and weapons
charges. Just before 10:30 a.m.
on July 6, 2015 Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
officers responded to an alarm
activation at a residence located
on Queen Street in Clin-
ton. Upon arriving at the resi-
dence officers located a male
tallcing on the phone. Upon fur-
ther investigation the investigat-
ing officer determined the male
was the owner's son however
he did not have permission to
be inside the residence at that
time.
The investigating officer also
observed the male to be carry-
ing a backpack with a large
knife sheath in plain view. The
male was placed under investi-
gative detention and a search
for weapons was conducted.
Upon searching the male the
officer located a quantity of
methamphetamine on the
male. He was then placed
under arrest and a thorough
search of the male and his
backpack was conducted. The
search resulted in the officer
seizing a BB gun pistol and a
homemade whip -baton that is
classified as a nunchaku under
the Criminal Code.
As a result he has been
charged with:
