The residents were treated to a
day at the spa. Corner Stone Spa
in Clinton came out to Huron -
view June 12 to treat the residents
to manicures and massage.
Denise Garon, Danielle
Garon, Marjorie Hartlieb and
Kaitlynn Stulp volunteered their
day with the residents at Huron -
view. Massage was the main
focal point for us at Huronview.
Massage is a wonderful way to
relax, relieve pain, relieve anxi-
ety and improve blood flow.
There were a few residents who
want to continue with massage
services from Corner Stone Spa.
Huronlea and Huronview
homes for the aged hosted vol-
unteers for an appreciation
luncheon. The homes have over
100 volunteers who perform
various activities and services.
The function was held at the
Central Huron Community Cen-
tre on June 9. Each year the vol-
unteer appreciation has a
theme, this year was "county
fair". Some staff and volunteers
dressed in their best fair attire.
There were 80 volunteers pre-
sent to enjoy meal and entertain-
ment. The room was filled with
the aroma of freshly popped
popcorn and the consisted of
fried chicken and various cold
salads with an ice-cream sundae
bar. Each volunteer went home
with carmel corn made by the
residents at each home.
The meal was followed by the
Huron Round dance group.
Each year the homes host an
event to celebrate the onset of
Spring.

Dancing with the stars is an
annual gala fundraiser that is
put on by Victim Services of
Huron County. The money
raised helps provide support
and practical assistance for vic-
tims of crime, trauma and tragic
circumstances in Huron County.
This year four of the dance
couples from last year's gala
event came to Huronview and
Huronlea to perform dance rou-
tines, including Ken Scott and
Lynnette Gerber, Les Cook and
Denise Lockie, Reanna Ramaker
and Andy Williams and Herb
Runstedler and Carole Weber.
Also included in the enter-
tainment was a synchronized
dance routine from East Side
Studio in Blyth by Les Cook and
Anne Elliott, Herb Runstedler
and Carole Weber and Ralph
and Carol Henderson.
Michelle Field the Executive
Director for Victim Services and Les
Cook owner of East Side Dance Stu-
dio in Blyth organized all of the vol-
unteers to come and entertain the
residents and families.
July events at Huronview and
Huronlea:
Every other Thurday through-
out the spring, fall and summer
residents travel to the Vanastra
pool for water exercise.
Every other Friday through
the summer there are camp-
fires including hotdogs
and marshmallows.
Any day the weather is nice,
the activation staff try to take
residents for a ride in the golf
cart purchased by our volunteer
auxiliary.
Each day the residents who
wish are out in the gardens
tending to the vegetables and
flowers.
Recently, Butch Fleet and
Cam MacDonald volunteered
their time to build the residents
