The ninth annual Bayfield Vette Fest
welcomed 300 Corvettes last Friday and
Saturday.
The event attracts car enthusiasts from
all over North America, as far as Florida.
Brian Coombs' has a passion for Cor-
vettes and had the idea for the Vette
Fest almost a decade ago as a way to
bring people to town.
Corvette owners love to show their
cars, Coombs explained.
Numerous door prizes, a raffle for a
2015 Corvette, goodie bags and a sum-
mer night cruise draw people to the vil-
lage. A portion of the proceeds from the
event go to the Bayfield Skating Club
and the Town Hall, said Coombs.
Murray Sagle came all the way from
Manitoulin Island with his '76 Corvette.
He came because he had heard that the
Bayfield Vette Fest was one of the big-
gest and most respected around.
The Coping Centre was selling raffle
tickets for the organization's biggest
fundraiser, a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette
Stingray Convertible.
The Coping Centre is a non-profit,
charitable organization from Cam-
bridge, Ontario. It offers support,
retreats and educational seminars for
people who have experienced grief.
Ticket order forms can be found at
www.copingcentre.com or by phone
1-877-554-4498/519-650-0852. The draw
will be held at the end of October 2015.
